Jantrix Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Did this ever get released? I can't find it on ModelRoundup.
Allen Wrench Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Did this ever get released? I can't find it on ModelRoundup. Late August, according to Tower Hobbies.
socal76 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Inside front cover of the August 2015 Scale Auto has an ad for it. So it will be issued!!

dragalley Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Any update on a date yet? Haven't seen anything on the usual sites about availability.
Scott Colmer Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Just looked on E-bay. Nothing today. This is very high on the wish list for me. May even get two.
Daddyfink Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Cool, now I can build one and keep my original all original!

MODELFREAK2112 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 http://www.modelroundup.com/product-p/mpc-r2-826.htm
Mark Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 I saw two of them yesterday at a local shop. They charge full retail, though, so neither of those followed me home. I'll pick one up at another local shop that at least gives club members 10% off (offsets the sales tax, at least) then pick another one up online or at a show.
Mr mopar Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I finely got one ,I wish I could post photos to show all of you this Awesome kit ! what I can tell you is the Decals are far better then the original sheet was ,the 15 new parts are a must have for this kit , also included is a booklet with close up photo's of the car ,this is a nice touch . the back slotted mag wheels are wrong in the kit, should be American 5 spoke mag's ! I give two thumbs up Round2 for bringing back this Awesome kit.
stangforever1 Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I just picked one of these kits at Hobby Lobby for around $20.00 with the 40% off coupon. Here are some pics of the model and decals.
Mr mopar Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Thank you Chuck ! For some reason I can not post photo's.
stangforever1 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 your welcome Doug. I have had the same problems at times.
High octane Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I would like that kit, however I have a few dragster kits in my "stash" and wonder if I'll ever get around to building them.
Scott Colmer Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Went to Hobby Lobby with coupon ready to go. CC was not there. Bummer.
Daddyfink Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Went into Hobby Lobby with no expectation of finding it and voila! It was there! Grabbed one and will most likely go back for another one. Compared it to my original and it is very nice! The extra parts are really nice and will find their way onto other projects!
Casey Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 (edited) The extra parts are really nice and will find their way onto other projects! I was going to ask about those newly created, extra parts, but it looks like they are for building a second, later(?) version of the same car?: Edited September 13, 2015 by Casey
Daddyfink Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I was going to ask about those newly created, extra parts, but it looks like they are for building a second, later(?) version of the same car?: From what I know, that is the only version of the car. The MPC kit was not accurate to begin with and looks like it has been properly corrected. I have never seen a single picture of the car in a magazine from that era or any info on the car actually racing. I heard it tried to qualify, but, no race results.
Scott Colmer Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 I broke down and got one through Amazon prime. First model I purchased in years. Too good to miss. The parts looks great. The front mount blower looks a lot like the unit from the Galloping Ghost. Does anyone have a shot of the actual CC engine?
