Phildaupho
I my opinion this is the best T-Bucket kit available. This is one I did a few years ago obviously inspired by Norm Graboski's Kookie Kar Hosted on Fotki
mrm
As far as I know this is at least the third time this kit is coming around. I remember building it in the mid nineties, when it was black with all the chrome done in gold. I think it was reissued under the Good Guys banner about 10 years ago. The box art was a red model with the parts done in chrome. This one I believe has a slightly different engine, but I may be wrong. In my opinion this builds from the box as the best and most modern model T street rod.
IMPALASS89
This was also done in 1/8th scale in black first If I remember right

bob terry
Why was it called the Boomer Bucket in a previous release?
jbwelda
>This was also done in 1/8th scale in black first If I remember right I think it was red. the original Big T I mean. and are you sure this kit (the one with the trailer) traces its lineage back to the Little T? I somehow thought it did not. jb
rasafyff
They are the same model. Here's the first reissue made in 1970.
Snake45
Looking forward to this. I've never built this kit, and I've recently come down with a bad case of Hot Rod Fever and would like to build all available T kits. I bought one of the gold-tinted one some years ago, but I can't find the stupid thing!
DaveM
I wonder if the trailer wheels and tires would work with the rear wheels to do a '70s street freak style of car. (using the trailer wheels as fronts) If so, I have a Mustang that I want to deck out with ladder bars, wild paint, massive hood scoops and a tach the size of a coffee can. I want to do one of these T buckets as a more traditional rod with some Holthaus wheels, and another as the ultimate '70s Fad T. with diamond shaped triple rear windows in the top and a big blower on the motor. (Probably use the "Heavy Chevy" kit for the blower and try to shove a Hemi into it.) I would keep the motorcycle tires up front, and put sprint car tires in the back on hurricane wheels or Center Lines. I am glad to see this kit back. I built one of these with the "Gold = chrome" issue of the kit. I swapped the trailer and wheels out, and they are long gone. It isn't as traditional as the Tweedy Pie based T kits, but it sure was a fun build. I wish it was 1/25 so it was easier to swap parts on, but I will still have a lot of fun with it. Casey
I wonder if the trailer wheels and tires would work with the rear wheels to do a '70s street freak style of car. (using the trailer wheels as fronts) The tires are the Monogram big 'n' little Goodyear Rally GT tires as found in most issues of the 1/24 '66 Malibus, '55 Street Machine, '55 Ford Pickup, '78 El Camimo, '29 Ford Pickup, '69 Camaro, etc., so they'll work well on a '70s era vehicle. jbwelda
thinking about it, I guess the 1/24 (vs 1/25 for example the tweedy pie) does give it away. I wonder exactly how many of the original parts are in the upcoming kits? certainly not the wheels and tires. and certainly not much if any of the engine. are the old parts still on the tree but just not used? jb
rasafyff
What's a shame is the turtle deck and th e chrome gastank are gone.
jbwelda
those parts (turtle deck and chrome fuel tank) made it so you could build the kit as sort of a little drag or a little rod, but the other parts to make them complete would have to be sourced elsewhere. pretty neat feature. I have a store display stand like that with a restored Little T. looks super kool. I see you found my photo somewhere! jb Edited November 1, 2014 by jbwelda
Mr mopar
They are the same model. Here's the first reissue made in 1970. FASTBACK340
I my opinion this is the best T-Bucket kit available. This is one I did a few years ago obviously inspired by Norm Graboski's Kookie Kar Hosted on Fotki I'll second that. Here's my version. BTW: I had this T bucket featured in the final issue of Plastic Fanatic before Gregg started Model Cars….. deuces wild
I have also with the red T bucket and trailer for box art.. Not sure, but I think it's a '90's kit.
W-409
What's a shame is the turtle deck and the chrome gastank are gone. What He Said! Especially I like how the turtle deck looks and probably because it's missing, I've never bought the earlier reissue of this kit. I was very close of buying it a couple of times, but then I found something more interesting. Maybe now it would be a good time to pick one of these up...Even without the turtle deck. Anyone knows if those Turtle Decks are offered in resin by someone?
