FASTBACK340 Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 The Saab 96, BMW 2002, and the Citroen would be interesting if we're speculating.
Aaronw Posted November 2, 2014 Author Posted November 2, 2014 I almost didn't include the 2002 as I was sure there had to be a kit of it already. All I turned up in 1/24 was a single resin kit, so I guess it really hasn't been done.Understand the European model market is pretty fragmented between 1/43, 1/32 and 1/24 which explains some of the holes. The SAAB, Volvo, and Peugeot had fairly successful careers in rally racing, which provides me with a glimmer of hope for those.I've been taunted for years by Heller who did the DS in 1/43 and 1/16, but left out the 1/24 builders. I keep hoping with Heller getting back on their feet, we may get the 1/16 scaled down to our scale.
Art Anderson Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Well, for my money, it would be cool to have a 1/24 or 1/25 scale kit of a Jaguar SS100! Art
Yoda Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) MkI Fiesta's a possibility, I doubt we'd get a full US version but if they kit the XR2 it'd have the round headlights. Current generation Fiesta ST, maybe - in that case maybe RoG could do the Euro version as full detail with a US five-door snapper designed in such a way to make kitbashing as easy as possible? Or they could just do a Focus ST which comes with a heaping helping of doors worldwide. I'd like to see a Morris Minor, too. And how about a Volvo 140 series? Edited November 3, 2014 by Yoda
Rob Hall Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Some variations of their existing tooling would also be nice to see, like a Mini Countryman or Traveller, a VW pickup or double cab pickup, etc.. Some other new tool items I'd love to see would include a '50s vintage Land Rover or a '60s-70s Ford Transit van or pickup.
unclescott58 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Opel Manta. A stunning good looking car. Late 60's/early 70's Mercedes 600 (126" wb sedan), 300 SEL 6.3, 280 SE 4.5 convertible, and 280 SL. Scott
Aaronw Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 I'd like to see a Morris Minor, too. And how about a Volvo 140 series?Honestly I'd take a kit of just about any Volvo from 1944-93, but I didn't want to dominate the "suggestions" with a bunch of Volvos.Morris Minor would be neat, when I was a kid there was one down the street from my house. It looked perfect for 6 year old me.It was next door to a '49 Cadillac. I'm pretty sure it would have fit in the Cadillac's trunk like an escape pod.
dartman Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 jI would love a kit of the Renault Douphine. I had one given to me when I was 13-14 years old.Was a real pos but it was my first car.
1972coronet Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I would like to see : - Renault R5 in street livery - BMW 6-Series Alpine or Baveria [sp] (European-only models) Tamiya produced the R5 some years ago , but it was a Rallye-only version . It was either Gunze or some other Japanese modeller whom made the 6-Series Alpine ; however , I have zero idea about the kit's contents .

Fujimi did the Alpine in they`re Enthusiast Series, very nice kit with lot of detail. And then there is the Hartge version, not sure about the content, but i think it is full detail as the Alpina. So there is plenty to chose from. Mine would be. Audi Sport Quattro. Mercedes Benz w108/109. Mercedes Benz w111/112 coupe/cabrio. Mercedes Benz w123,and a wagon would be awsome. Ford Escort MK1. Ford Capri MK1 2600RS. BMW E9,stunning coupe. Volvo PV Sport. Volvo 245. Citroen SM. Fiat 127 & 128. Opel Manta B 400. Opel Ascona B 400. Edited November 5, 2014 by om617
afx Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) I second the Escort Mk1 and the Cotrina in Lotus or any guise. BTW, I think the guy in the Cortina missed the apex! Edited November 5, 2014 by afx
chunkypeanutbutter Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Morris Marina. I can't see why people think it's ugly
John Goschke Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Well, we probably won't get it, but I'd love to see it in 1/25th. DKW (Auto Union) 1000sp. Not iconic in its own right, but it does emulate an icon...
Earl Marischal Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Airfix used to do in 1/32: Ford Escort Mk 1 Lotus Cortina Mk 1 Renault Dauphine For me, I would like the Saab 900 (pre-GM), 9-3 Cabriolet, 9-5 Saloon and 9-5 Estate so I could build the cars I own or have owned! steve
John Goschke Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Or perhaps a 1/25th Simca Sport Océane? In a curbside kit from Tamiya maybe? Brigitte says "Oui!"
Aaronw Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 Morris Marina.I can't see why people think it's uglyThat reminds me a bit of the old Dodge Colt (which was a rebadged Mitsubishi I believe).
Guest Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I would like to see a Amphicar and a Plymouth Cricket.

John Goschke Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Another obscure but attractive two-seater, the Facel Facelia. Great subject for a nice 1/25th curbside kit.
ChrisBcritter Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Morris Marina. Only if it comes with a piano.
unclescott58 Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I would like to see a Amphicar and a Plymouth Cricket. I like these two suggestions. We don't tend to look at the Cricket over here in a very positive light. But, in other parts of the world, the Chrysler Avenger (our Plymouth Cricket) and its variations were looked on quite highly. The car was built for years. And was a fairly well looked upon as a pretty good Rallye car. Scott
jbwelda Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I would love an Amphicar...Ma's Resin is supposedly working on a resin kit. how about a stock Bantam roadster: you said funky, right? and how about an MGTF, never done in 1/24 to my knowledge aside from the Southeastern Finecast metal kit:
