GLMFAA1 Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) Has anyone tried this airbrush system? http://www.harborfreight.com/quick-change-airbrush-kit-93506.html greg Edited November 11, 2014 by GLMFAA1
Snake45 Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 No, but the price seems right for at least a test. Not long ago I bought a $12 flea market Chinese-made Badger 350 copy/clone/ripoff JUST for shooting Future and other clear coats and it works very well for that--well worth the price.
martinfan5 Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 If you are going to go cheap, I would recommend their $20 A/B, its a double action, and it works very well for a cheap A/B. http://www.harborfreight.com/deluxe-airbrush-kit-69492.html
DynoMight Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 If you are going to go cheap, I would recommend their $20 A/B, its a double action, and it works very well for a cheap A/B. http://www.harborfreight.com/deluxe-airbrush-kit-69492.html I would go with that one too... The first one seems really cheap..
Miatatom Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 I've got the $21.99 A/B. You get what you pay for, but if it's all the budget allows for now, it's does decent job. I was lucky and scored a Badger Patriot 105 for $45 through Amazon. Had to sign up for an Amazon Mastercard (no cost) but the discount was well worth it. Retail was over $100. Look for deals/discounts.
Jon Haigwood Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 for $10 it's worth a try. Might work well for base coats and primer
rsxse240 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Look on eBay, there's a guy in england selling chineese airbrushes for like $25. I have one and use it primarily since it is dual action, internal mix, gravity fed and its super easy to keep clean.
GLMFAA1 Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 I already have an airbrush. Was just asking if anyone has or had this device to see how of it works. Thanks for the answers greg
rsxse240 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 The siphon feed external mix units are great for painting large areas, but are really just slightly better than spray cans. That is true for all of that type of gun.
Tesla Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 I've been using this airbrush for two years and it works great! No problems. The quick change feature is a plus...no need to clean when changing colors. Make certain that the containers are cleaned thoroughly after each use.
aurfalien Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Hi Tesla, which air brush have you been using? Nice name BTW.
Tesla Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Hi Tesla, which air brush have you been using? Nice name BTW. I use this one: http://www.harborfreight.com/quick-change-airbrush-kit-93506.html Like I said, it's always work great for me
aurfalien Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Thanks T, I wasn't sure as a few have been brought up on this thread. A few questions if you don't mind; How do you prevent it from clogging? Did you find the cups swelling or needing to be replaced after a while?
gtx6970 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 If you are going to go cheap, I would recommend their $20 A/B, its a double action, and it works very well for a cheap A/B. http://www.harborfreight.com/deluxe-airbrush-kit-69492.html I've got one of these,,no complaints. But I don't use an airbrush much. I needed one to do some 1/1 car parts . and it worked out great . I think I got mine on sale for less than $20 so I felt I had nothing to lose
935k3 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 (edited) This guy wasn't to happy with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9vYK_W-zSc Go to Don Wheelers site and scroll down to the review of this airbrush. https://sites.google.com/site/donsairbrushtips/ Edited November 15, 2014 by 935k3

Did you find the cups swelling or needing to be replaced after a while? When airbrushing, I always use acrylics. For cleaning, I soak all parts in Windex and rinse with water. As far as replacing, I purchased another kit after two years of use. At this price, no complaints...
935k3 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Do not soak metal airbrushes or parts in ammonia. It will eat the chrome and the brass over time.
