I got the Cessna 172 Float plane kit by MiniCraft that I've been eyein' for awhile. Wish that I would have taken a ride on a floatplane last summer when I was in Alaska.

Are you by any chance going to build that as a diorama with it in the water ????

It seems Dragon goes to great lengths in their attempts to screw up the instructions on nearly every kit. Good thing though, is if you build enough variations of say a Sherman, you get a basic understanding of what goes where.

Just came in the mail today. Got it off of Ebay. Open dented box, but everything inside is still sealed in bags and OK. It's pretty much what I drive at work and even propane fueled...a Toyota forklift. And no...I don't work in a fish market. No idea what I'm going to do with them and the bin.

It wasn't today but it's been in the recent past. I've had the 1/48 HiPM version of this kit for about 17 years but when the new 1/48 Hobbyboss version came out a couple of months ago I just had to get it. It is 200% better quality over the HiPM version(and about 3 lbs lighter due to all the absence of flash! lol ).

Love 'em all (the warbirds that is) and yes they did come up with some of the most far-fetched and outlandish aircraft as well has having some of the coolest camo schemes at that time.

This has been a while back but is just bizarre enough to build......................one of these days when I feel my skills have become worthy enough to build one of these. And this kit aint one for the light hearted either.

Yes siree! All kinds of frame work and bracing rods! Where in tha hell to display it would be of my greatest concern right along with having to be at a home that would be my final resting place for a long friggin time. I don't think a build like this would survive a move across the room let alone a home move!! lol

You've got yourself one helluva kit there Kevin! Those kits are among the best in the modeling market right now! emotion-21.gif

I couldn't agree more, Joe. These newer generation large scale Tamiya kits, are a wonder to behold. I'm already compiling a list of AM that I'd like to eventually throw at it.

For what it may be worth to you, Valiant Wings has just recently released this book on the BV 141.

Certainly not auto related, this was received today, the Dragon 1:6 scale 20mm Flak 38. What a very generous gesture from a forum member from another site.

The ol' MPC Chevelle Stock car from a LHS that is trying to bring in model builders. They mainly do R/C. And the Hasegawa 1/48 Macross Valkyrie VF-1S/A Super Valkyrie Skull Squadron I picked up at the Secret Society of Modelers yearly show at Gillespie Field

I'll be very disappointed if that VF-1S/A Strike Valkyrie doesn't show up in the All The Rest sub-forum when you crack it open.
