Porscheman Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) I finished the Edsel in a long build for me, in 3 days. I painted it Krylon turquoise with Tamiya's ptimer white for the body and seat inserts and finished it off with 3 coats of Testors wetlook clear. 3 very light coat of Tamiya's clear blue was applied to the windshield to give it a nice tint. I waited a long time to find a clean 59 Edsel and I think the wait was worth it. I'm still waiting on the fender ornimates from The Modelhaus. Thanks for looking. Ramfins59 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Geeze Al, 3 days is a long build for you...??? HA HA HA HA HA HA.... It sometimes takes me 3 days just to prep all the parts...!!! You're a madman! As usual, you did a great job on the Edsel. I'll eventually get around to working on the original AMT, unassembled, unpainted '59 Edsel kit that I scored on EBAY last year. I hope I can do it justice like you did with yours.
John Goschke Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Nice work for such a quick turnaround! Very attractive color combo!
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Looks great Al! saw your pics already in "WIP". How come it took you so long to post them "Under Glass"? Steve
Porscheman Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 Thanks guys!!! Steve, the sixies were way to good to me and I thought I already did.
ChrisBcritter Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Love the Jet Stream Blue and Snow White two-tone! I built a hardtop in that scheme long ago; traded it to Ron Merkel. Wonder if he still has it...
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Thanks guys!!! Steve, the sixies were way to good to me and I thought I already did. Great answer! Regardless, a nice looking Edsel!! Steve

davyou5 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Too bad the car it's didn't run very well. . But that is an Awesome build you did in 3 days.
Porscheman Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 Thank you again everyone, I really enjoyed this build. Al
impcon Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) Al, those are realy nice pretty colours on a very nice, clean build!!! Wow! VERY pretty!!! The softer, pastel type colours can be really attractive in cars from that era just as the brighter colours are. Soft clours to me suggest beauty, class and elegance while the "louder" colours can best be secribed as "sharp!!!" Yours looks like a very classy ride. Nice work!! Edited November 18, 2014 by impcon
Tom99 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I have two unbuilt 59 Edsel's. I hope mine will turn out as nice as yours, great job.
