What's winter like there? 50 or so? It only just started getting about high-thirties-low-forties here so I have to wear a light jacket...

When you're older your blood gets thinner and you'll be needin' a heavier jacket my friend.

Lows in the upper 30's here by Thanksgiving.

High desert has all sorts of weather variations, hot, real hot, hot as all h#!!, and occasionally, cold.

We have had snow here, December of '08 saw record snowfall by my place. 8 inches of heavy wet snow. I thought I was back in the midwest for a second.

Enjoy as I already have tinnitus and sorry I didn't wear ear protection when I was younger. And yes the music I enjoyed was loud enough to "feel it" also.

Happily I have 300 miles and a Mountain Range between us!:P Enjoy

Oh yes, I think I am going too .

Sadly, I have tinnitus in my right ear already,  believe me , ear protection is going to be a very important to me,  I guess I should say this was a business purchase.

Guessin' Tinnitus is a better gauge of if you took part in the 60's than if you can remember 'em! I've got a constant 6khz tone in both ears yet as my Wife likes to mention I can hear a Flea Fart. The ringing is from both Concerts and prolonged exposure to shooting without hearing protection.

I believe that my tinnitus came from listening to LOUD engines at both the drag strips and at drag boat races as well. Then throw in 35+ years of working construction, and of course music loud enough to "feel." Other than the construction work, it was fun, but now I'm paying for it.

My tinnitus came from being too close to 105mm, 155mm, 175mm, and 8" guns about 45 years ago.

M60's and the M2 Browning HB for me.

Weapons Co. 2/7.

Then, 20 years later, a stint on the Bomb Squad.

Huh?

I couldn't shoot my weapon since it carried a nuclear warhead and was 35' long, but the turbine Power Station running the show had hearing warning stickers all over the back side ... right where I had to store my tools during a countdown. I had a hearing loss on discharge ... but then there was Yes.
