Who the heck turns something like this in to Goodwill for absolutely nothing?

I've found some pretty nice stuff at Goodwill . . . even a lot of high $ clothes - sometimes brand new, unworn.  You just have to be lucky enough to get there right after a scorching hot wifey has dropped off everything her cheating husband used to own!

Picked this up in a Goodwill yesterday.  Marshall 4x12 speaker cabinet.  Score!!  It’s from 1995 and is in excellent condition.

Who the heck turns something like this in to Goodwill for absolutely nothing?  This is the second speaker cab I’ve scored from two different locations.

Nice!

I found my Peavey 412 cabinet on a local classifieds page. $50 CDN. Couple of years old, and basically giving it away! I couldn't drive over to meet the guy fast enough.

Well, with it being Father's Day yesterday, the kiddies hit me with this.

I'm not a plane guy per se, but I love Spitfires. And I love Iron Maiden.

They also got me a bottle of Sailor Jerry and a 2L of Dr Pepper. :)

I had no idea this existed.  With the Maiden tie-in, that’s just awesome!?

Sweet!  Warmoth is pretty good stuff.  I used one of their necks on the first guitar I ever built.

Going with a natural finish?

Nah, I've already got one of those. I'm not exactly sure which was I've going this go round. This will be my 3rd Warmoth.

Giving wifey's old Volvo XC90 a refresh.

Ordered up some new headlight lenses, tail lights, foglights, front grille, bumper dye, and will be taking the wheels in for a refinish.

And I have my polisher and supplies ready to make it look showroom.

We've been humming and hawing about replacing it for a while now, but it's too good a vehicle, so we're updating it instead.

And she's on board with finding a toy for the summer months and turning the Volvo into her winter vehicle, so this could be interesting.

Picked this up this morning.

Look out England!

I had no idea we were supposed to get a permit to drive in other countries (unless that’s a weird rule that only applies to Canadians, which I’m sure it isn’t…)

Huh!  (And whoops)

I've never had one when travelling to, or driving in the US, but it was recommended by both of the English rental car agencies I spoke with.

So for $30 CDN, why not have one? If I need it, I've got it.

Huh!  Interesting!

You're right - it's smart to have given the price.  Do they have any cool rentals over there?  Jaguar E-Type or an MG? ?

I'm sure there are speciality rental places in the UK,  like we have in places like Miami, LA and Las Vegas...   At Hertz in the UK, I rented a Ford Fiesta once and a Ford Mondeo another time..  in Italy, I rented a Mercedes A-class hatchback once and an Opel Vectra wagon another time.. next time I go across the pond, I want to rent a camper and drive around the UK for a few weeks...

Although I'm sure there are cool rentals, I booked an SUV of some kind. Same size as a Ford Escape. I hoping for something I can't get here, like a Citroen or something. Booked it as a manual as well, to save a few bucks.

And unfortunately, even if available, an E-Type or MG would be no good, as there is no hope I could squeeze my 6'6" body into one. :(

Driving a manual in the UK was really awkward at first... shifting w/ my left hand while driving on the opposite side of the road... took some getting used to.  That was in a Fiesta about 25 years ago...2nd trip I got a Mondeo w/ an automatic, easier.

I've done it once. Back when I was 16, we did our semi-annual family trip back to England (my parents are both from Southampton.)

We went to a pub one night and dad had a few beverages. Mum doesn't drive a stick. So that left me. We had a Ford Escort wagon, circa 1989 or so.

I got to do a 10 minute drive back to my grandparents' place.

LOL, they will give you a Kuga diesel. At least you can compare and contrast.
