Beeg Juanito Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Where were you in 62? 1962 426 max wedge Plymouth Fury. I built this from an old Johan Kit I got from a friend. The old Johan kits engines were pretty cheezy so I put in the 426 from a Lindburg SS Dodge. I know the max wedges in 62 were 413's but I just had to put in the 426 Ramcharger engine! The car is painted metallic Rootbeer and the inter is tan. I scratch built the entire exhaust system from solder. Man, I miss the days when you could buy something like this right off the showroom floor for under 5k. (Probably between 3 and 4 grand).
Lunajammer Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Beautiful colors and attitude. Nice work.
1972coronet Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Very nice ! 1962 was the first year for the aluminum-cast 727 (it was cast iron from 1956-1961) . The 413 and 426 were both RB engines ; indeciperable in-scale .
geetee66 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I'm not familiar with this car, but it looks tough! Colour, stance, attitude...it's got it all.
Rusty Irons Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 That is a very nice model car! I love the metallic root beer color.
Robberbaron Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Nice job! Really wish I'd gotten one of these back in the 80s when they were still available new at the local hobby shop (along with the '62 Dodge and the '63 Plymouth).
