Having seen the paint job on this Merc up close and in person, it could pass for a Stillwagon finish. Just plain gorgeous, Cruz! The details under the hood and chassis really set it off, too. Love it!

Meeting? Meeting? What meeting? You guys on the east coast are have way too much fun without me!!:o

But seriously, Marcos, that is one excellent build!! The details are amazing!! In total, it's an excellent display of workmanship and craftsmanship!!

I have got to get some of those carburetor kits. They look amazingly real, even when you know they're 1:25th scale!! How difficult were they to assemble?

Thanks for sharing,

They are not that difficult to build, they are more tedious than anything else. You just have to worry about those little parts jumping off your tweezers, if this happens, say good buy to them ;):P:P

You nailed the classic look, Cruz! Speaking of classic...expect to see this in the March issue of Classic Plastic. Great job!
Thanks Dan, just in case you need reference photos of the build, they are right here in the forum under the "on the workbench" section!!!

Marcos,

What did you use to paint the carbs?

Are the carb bodies from the kit or are they the ones from MCG that come with the PE parts?

Thanks,

The Carbs are a complete kit including the PE, nylon fuel lines and the resin Carbs. I painted them with Testors Metalizer Stainless Steel paint first. After this, I drybrushed them with this little paste-like product I found at Michael's Craft store named Rub 'n buf wax metallic finish. It comes in varrious metallic shades. I used the Antique Gold very lightly and drybrushed it over the carbs being careful not didn't overdo it!!!:lol: You can do it with your fingers or in my case, since the Carbs were so small, with a small brush......
