Mike 1017 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I haven't seen this movie since it's original showing at Chicago's Montclair Theater. It's still funny But the real stars are the cars and trucks. Mike
slusher Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Very good movie. It was on a few weeks ago....
cobraman Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Although I had seen it before I watched it when it was shown a few weeks ago. It's a crazy movie and pretty funny.
Tom Geiger Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I rented it once and did all the car scenes in slow motion and over and over. I believe I taped it so I should have it here somewhere in VHS. Typical mindless zany movie of that era where they tried to pack in as many stars as they could. Classic!
GLMFAA1 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 great fire department and a wicked aerial trtuck
Dave Van Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 YES!!! Talk about a 'movie car' movie!!!! Some would be easy...other TOUGH.....but I'd like to build a few of them. One of the last 'old Hollywood' films.
southpier Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 and not a curse anywhere. why can't that be the norm?
unclescott58 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 This movie is still a favorite of mine. Love Dick Shaw in the '62 Dodge trying to run Milton Berle and Terry Thomas off the road. And you got to give Ethel Merman credit her willingness to play the character she played in that movie. Who would have thought a person of her class could have play someone so funny? Plus the gas station scene with Winters. Another great one! This movie is still great. And not just for the cars. Though the cars make it worth watching too. Scott
Earl Marischal Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 The trailer's here --> That's some serious vehicle abuse! steve

Scott I think the gas station scene is an all time classic!!!! Read up on the making of the film if you have not....... I think Winters was FANTASTIC.......
drball Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I'm coming Mama, I'm coming. Dick Shawn was an underated comic/actor in my opinion. His talents were well on display in that movie.
mnwildpunk Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Spencer tracy, phil silver and Johnathan winter's make that movie

I love him sliding over to the passenger side of his car to threaten Milton Berle. Then realizing no body is at the wheel his car, he screams and quickly slides back to the driver's side. A second or two later he's doing it all over again. That and Johnathan Winters wrecking gas station are the two best things in a movie with lots of great moments of great comedy. Funny from Jimmy Durate "kicking the bucket", all the way through to the end. I'm glad I have it DVD. In fact talking about watching movies tomarrow night to celebrate New Years. This maybe the movie we have to watch. Scott

Russell C Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 A classic that cannot be surpassed for either sheer vehicular mayhem or its all-star cast (I'd forgotten the 3 firemen were the 3 Stooges). Hopefully, nobody will attempt to remake it.

von Zipper Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I love this movie ! If someone were to start a community build thread, I would definitely join in.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I've seen Rat Race, but never this. Have to check it out.
Roadrunner Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 What a wonderful movie. I saw it at the old Martin Cinerama years ago, and now have it on DVD; simply classic stuff.
Dave Van Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Pulled the DVD out and watched it last night rather than the Eve junk. Still a GREAT film......old school Hollywood with lots of action....cool cars!
