Anglia105E
Liking the cart Pat........ is 3 inches okay for this? Only asking because a 1:24 scale man is 3 inches tall. David

Only asking because a 1:24 scale man is 3 inches tall. David The original idea was to have it laid down like the one below. I could not find proper wheels so it will be upright, If it proves to be too big, that can be fixed. If I lowered the handlebar it may make it more palatable.
Anglia105E
Well Pat.... that's what struck me when I thought about the 6 feet height of the handlebar. If you imagine your 3" tall mechanic /engineer raising his arms to take hold of that handlebar.... just a bit too high me thinks. landman
How's this? When it gets tilted back to roll, the handles are not much higher than the doorknob.
Gramps46
Pat, You don't miss a thing. I just noticed the missing floor tiles. Very appropriate.

Thank you for the compliment. That was supposed to be a spill but you are right, they look exactly like broken tiles.
Anglia105E
I think you have the height of the handlebars just right Pat, at not much more than doorknob height..... looks good now. I did not spot the missing floor tiles, Gary, I must look more closely! David

Anglia105E
Job done! That would deal with any fire incident in the test cell, I reckon. David
crazyjim
Excellent. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the handles facing out?

I suppose now that everyone has seen the front I could turn it around. You are absolutely right Jim, I think the front of the rig should point toward the engines, for expediency. Anglia105E
Okay, Pat...... what's next? Just to let you know, I have decided to build a 1:43 scale version of my Hooper & Co diorama. The most important reason for doing this is that there are many interesting model cars available in the 1:43 scale, particularly the Hooper Empress Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, the Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn, the Austin FX3 Taxi and the AEC Regent RT London Bus, none of which are available in 1:24 scale. Also Brumm of Italy make 1:43 scale horse-drawn carriages, one of which is perfect for the first floor showroom window of the building. Anglia105E
Pat....... All the elements of your photo have so much detail, which is a joy to view, but what really does it for me is that figure. Th guy in the hat with his hands in his pocket, staring at the wall ( or the machines ) just works on so many levels. You have set up the lighting to produce interesting shadows and the feeling of realism is all there. David

Anglia105E
" Do I need to go to the men's room? " or " Which is my engine that he is working on right now? " or maybe, " Now where did I put my car keys? " No wait.... I've got it!...... " I used to have a lathe just like that one. " David
landman
You are close David. He is "The Boss" and he is wondering whether FTB needs a larger lathe. Here he is in the shop and in the control room. I have since given him acouple of shots of flat clear to tone down his jacket.
Anglia105E
So close!....... One or two of my early figures turned out having suits that looked too glossy, and I made sure to use more of a matt finish after that. Sounds like a new and larger lather is just around the corner Pat ? David
landman
The lathe was brought forward to get a bit of work done.
Anglia105E
Ah yes, the lathe..... I just noticed my typo error which referred to it as the ' new and larger lather ' David
landman
The work will consist of adding a backsplash, a lamp and a cutting fluid nozzle.
