59-Desoto Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Something I started almost nine years ago , it got set aside about the time Revelle released their HT kit. Was something I wanted to fill a hole in my collection as a display piece . Nothing perfect just a build.
vintagercr Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 " not perfect, just a build". It sure looks great to me!
High octane Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Beautiful "bowtie" for just a shelf model, nice job Gene.
Sixties Sam Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Very nice build! Great finish and foil work! Looks good in red! Sam
w451973 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Nice work. BTW. Whats the story with the Rallye 350 in your avatar ?
drifterdon Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Very very nice. I love rag tops and this one is super sharp. Well done.
Bob Ellis Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Nice work. Did you combine the revel '65 Impala convertible parts, or make up the parts by yourself?
59-Desoto Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 Nice work. Did you combine the revel '65 Impala convertible parts, or make up the parts by yourself? Well Bob the body started as a damaged ModelHaus resin combined with a Monogram 65 convertible in like 2008 or 2009 , it was put away till last year when a bought a 66 Revel Impala for parts. Had the car too far along not to finish it out. If I was going to do it all over again today only the Revel 66 and a Monogram 65Impala would be needed. Didn't like the Monogram cv boot some ordered a resin for the AMT from modelHaus .. also the interior tub is a resin that came with the body. A don't do shows or any competition all my builds are just for my collection and display. Most all my builds are done as convertibles and most are done using distressed old build ups or promos. Think the 72 Chevelle is the only new out of box build I have done in years.
Bob Ellis Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 This 66 and your 72 Chevelle look great as converted convertibles ( does that sound correct?) .
