Phildaupho Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 One of all time favorite cars and you have done a superb job building and presenting a model of it. I had a red 1980 Canadian version GTI which had the looks but not the performance up grades of European versions but still a great car.
bismarck Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) I had one of the earlier ones like that too. Used to race my brother in his escort. No contest, I smoked him every time!! One of the best cars I owned. beautiful build!!! Edited January 26, 2015 by bismarck
Zarana-X Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Incredible work and photography. Looks like a real life car in quite a few shots!
peekay Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Wow, hervorragend! One of the most realistic models I've ever seen on this site - and that takes real skills on a lot of levels. Outstanding.
Tonioseven Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 This is fantastic!! Not overly done and well-built!!
vamach1 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 My neighbor still drives his 80's GTI to work every day.
Karl LaFong Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Great job on the car and great choice of records!

Can-Con Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Looks fantastic. Love Mk1s and can't wait to get my hands on this kit even though I still have a couple unbuilt AMT Rabbits.
Curt Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Outstanding work, Axel! Very realistic model and the way you set up your photos just adds to the realism.
Filter Posted February 8, 2015 Author Posted February 8, 2015 thank you all very much for all this kind comments
Dragline Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Were it not for that wavy kit glass that first pic could be the real thing. Well done on the finishes, in particular the wheels. They look utterly realistic. Well done Sir.
MsDano85gt Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 not the exact same car, newer of course but i like the ad campaign of "Dust Thy Neighbor" found this to be one cool magazine ad though everyone here would like this fits this post for the most part
Greg Pugh Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Ok, I have to admit...I generally do not click on anything when the subject matter doesn't interest me. When I saw that this had grown to three pages, I looked just out of curiosity. Boy, am I glad I did! What an INCREDIBLE model you've built! The model itself and your photography skills are amazing! It looks real!! Nice job!
Scalper Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Nice work.. looks real in my books. great shots and background.
