You missed one.

I've thought about building this version with it just for the heck of it since I don't like factory stock and it wouldn't make a very good street car. That or maybe a low rider.

I bought them just to get the stock kits, Found other uses for some of the parts, ex: the exhaust tips from the Camaro made nice traffic pylons when painted orange

Not sure what the issue is. Most of those are great kits. As far as the goofy parts, ignore them and you have a great kit. As far as the goofy parts, there were very much a sign of the times and most likely generated a few sales. Not a bad thing if you ask me.

What Mark said :

"Most kids (myself included) hated those parts back then, they took the place of other things that could have been a lot better."

I have the 71'Camaro,Challenger and the 71'Impala and those parts were obviously aimed for kids at the time, wonder how kids would react to them if they were issued today?

Today there are no kids building models, but our herd would scream bloody murder!

I thought the mpc 71 roadrunner phantom superbird kit was cool.

And there was the 71 cuda that you couldn't take the hood off with this set up!

The kits themselves were great in most cases, the Zinger-wannabe parts not so great. As cool as some of us think those Impalas and Grand Prix (Grand Prixs? Grands Prix?) are now, most builders didn't get into them back then. Some of those weren't hot sellers, and wound up as closeout items that got built by little kids. That's why they are so tough to find unbuilt now, also why built ones are often not worth messing with...

Looks like some of the wackier Matchbox cars during the 70's. I could put some of those parts to good use.

I wouldn't consider the "Mild" version of the Camaro or Chevelle mild.

I have the 71 Impala and 71 Chevelle both are still unbuilt, but boy do they some of those goofy looking parts.

It's hard to believe that someone would have built all of the 71 annuals with those goofy parts on them.

Morris Cowley roadster?

sheesh why don't they just cut the carp and release a "straight" version of that! anyone actually seen the body? is it anywhere close to realsville?

of course, I did just notice it is 1/32 scale. still, make a great slot car.

Here's a '71 Impala that I restored from a Glue-bomb that was originally moulded in red. I'd say it came out pretty nice. I have a '71 Grand Prix, Road Runner, and a '71 Camaro in the stash to be built. I would not wish the sppof parts on anyone.

While I would never use the spoof parts on any of these gems I would use them on junkers to build cartoon type cars from them just for kicks....id gladly take any of those goofy looking parts if there not wanted.
