Dominik- I think yours is the first Hornet kit I've seen painted black. The metal trim looks great. Aaronw Posted November 28, 2011 Share Posted November 28, 2011 I've got the body painted and finished the foil. Between this and a 59 El Camino I almost wiped out a whole sheet of BMF. Bonus points for keeping the cut lines for the panel between the trunk and back window intact- those try to make an escape along with the mold lines in that area when you sand the body. Yep- you'll see a raised lip around the perimeter of the front and rear glass- that represents the window seals, which are chrome. Best thing might be to foil them, then paint the edges black to represent the exposed rubber, but I'm not sure my hands are that steady. Chuck Most Posted November 29, 2011 Share Posted November 29, 2011 Penciled in the suspension- actually managed to get it a bit lower in back, but the front sits a little higher now. Might fix that, might not... still needs a little bit of daylight under the rockers for the lake pipes I plan to put on it. Also plugged in a Cadillac 345 engine I already built years ago. The taillights on this one were more pink than red, so I hit them with a red Sharpie to darken them.
