MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. Fantastic looking AWB racers!
  2. Is this what you are looking for? Golfer made these. Maybe you can make the 429 look like a 428? All it would take is a tiny dab of black paint. I can even send you the 429 so you won’t have to buy the whole sheet. I’ll never use the 429.
  3. Thanks again for the replies. I have a couple manifolds coming from Iceman. I decided to pull the Hemi heads off the moebius engine, and add the heads for a 440. I built a manifold from spare parts to resemble a B1. There is a guy on eBay that has a bunch of resin parts, and I put in a max bid, and was outbid. I’m not going to rebid, as the parts don’t look that great to warrant a higher bid. I think this wedge engine will look pretty good when I’m all finished with it.
  4. Or, just go with an inline, two four barrel set up.
  5. Thanks for the replies everyone. Yes, now that I think about it, I definitely want the ports to be spaced correctly. I see an EFI unit that Iceman has, that I can convert to make it look like the one here…
  6. Does anyone have or know of someone that has a manifold similar to this?
  7. With all the parts in my bins, I can’t find an intake to convert the Moebius Hemi to a single carb hi rise B1 style intake. Does anyone know of someone who casts one? I’ve checked Iceman, and VCG, but came up empty. I already have the hood and scoop set up for an inline type intake over the cross ram style.
  8. The little tabs on the glass slide into the slots on top of the door panels. I’d glue them in first, then assemble. You might have to reach in through the front windshield opening to pry the door panels to make it all pop in. I never tried it the way you suggested, but I’d give it a try. I’ve had problems with the side windows, but on the Dodge cars though. That Tamiya Titanium Gold looks pretty good on the interior. I’ve been using Champage, with a coat of smoke. So, how do you like building the Moebius AWB cars?
  9. Moebius 65 Coronet, that I plan on building into a solid 9 second drag car. Should look totally streetable, except for the roll bar, parachute, and other safety equipment. Undecided if I want a Lenco transmission, or just use the supplied one behind the hemi. Looking to paint it some shade of blue. This blue car on YouTube got my mind goin’
  10. Thanks again guys. I masked and painted the stripes, and I brushed Vallejo Air on the rear trunk that surrounds the decal. Yes, getting the body and interior to seat. The two Plymouths I built just seemed to go together easier on final assembly. I don’t know if it’s the tabs on the side windows, or I wasn’t doing something right, but I had to reach into to car through the front windshield and pry the door panels with an exacto knife, to get the tabs in. No big deal though. Still a fun build regardless.
  11. Thanks for the replies. Yes, Tim, I used the trans from the 68 Hemi Dart kit.
  12. They look great. How do I get in touch with him? Website?
  13. Built this out of the box, except for wires, parachute, and seatbelts. The chute that comes in this kit, is the same one from the Plymouth kits, and doesn’t fit the Dodge properly. Other than that, it’s a fun kit. During assembly the drivers window popped out, so I figured it would be ok with only the passenger window. But then that popped out too. So instead of prying it back apart and chipping the paint, I just left it. I used 2 part epoxy on the Landy cars side windows, and they stayed in place. I have one more Plymouth AWB kit in my stash, and plan on building the Golden Commandos car soon.
  14. Completed the Landy Dodge. In my opinion, the Dodge kit is a tad more finicky in final assembly than the Plymouths are. A few wires under the hood, annd a chute from my parts bin, and decals from Slixx, and I added an 3-D printed grill I bought off eBay.
