Porscheman
This was released recently from Revell of Germany. I'm not a fan of the car at all, but it did get transportation to people who never thought they could own a car. I painted this Tamiya Flat Wood Deck and Testors Wet Look Clear out of rattle cans. The interior was painted Krylon Claret Wine with black insert. This is a the 1st Revell of Germany I've ever built and I have to say the kit is excellent, with casting as good if not better than Tamiya. Lots of parts go into this little 4 1/2" model. Thanks for looking. Al Edited June 6, 2014 by Porscheman

peekay
Very nicely done, looks great! You've probably never seen one but you nailed it. ROG seem to be making some real progress. From what I've read this is due to new management.
Foxer
I love seeing these kits of cars that have no love .. eheh. Looks like a great build you did there ..
The Creative Explorer
@Peekay, it started with the Enzo and SLS and they are for sure making good steps. I am emailing with herr Ulli (head of R&D) lately and just told him today that it is very close to Japanese kits nowadays. I am working on a review-kit of this Trabant Universal for the Dutch IPMS, and even though I wouldn't say that it is near Tamiya-quality, it is a huge step from their old products. When I was at Revell HQ 2 weeks ago, I could compare the old Trabant from the nineties with the latest ones and boy, there is a gap! Herr Ulli told us that the old Trabant was their worst kit ever made (and best sold too :-D). @Foxer; not very loved outside the DDR, but very loved within the DDR. It is a cult-car, just like the beetle.
krazyglu
The Trabant is a cult car like the VW's and I definately love the look of these little car's. I will have to pick one up and it is nice to here the improvement's ROG is taking, I have a Peterbilt 353 and VW Golf that are kind of rough for such pricy kit's. By the way you did a great job on this kit, I think the color's work well.
bbowser
I guess "long roof" is a relative term . Great little model, I think it's cool!

English Jules
i love 'Der Trabi'. Spent a lot of time in east Germany myself, seen many of them. I cant stand the VW Beetle (or Kaefer as the Germans know it as)....never been a fan of old VW's, campers etc....hate them. Yours looks nice, reminds me of the good times over there! Prost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Porscheman
I'm glad you all enjoyed my little wagon. This is a great kit with no fit issues. The rear hatch opens on realistic hinges and functions perfectly. Thanks for the nice comments. Al

Joe Handley
That could look neat with a roof rack and a couple mini surfboards on the said racks.
charlie8575
I need one of those. Al- is that a slot-car track it's sitting on? Nice job on that. Charlie Larkin

Porscheman
Thank you again. I was thinking jamming a big V8 and a tubed chassis. Oh wait, I don't do drag cars. Al
