  1. With a very heavy heart I wish to inform all my fellow modelers of the passing of Steve Kohler of Star Models. Steve passed away peacefully on May 28th from a long term illness. Rest in peace my friend.
  2. I sent an email to Jeff Ballard not expecting to get a response. Surprisingly within an hour and a half he emailed me back stating that he is physically unable to do casting anymore and has turned the business over to his son. Also stated that in the future his son "MAY" help him to get "SOME" of his old orders filled, but that his son is in no way responsible for those orders. I have talked with a cousin of mine who is an attorney in Texas. She told me that she wasn't exactly sure what the law is in Nebraska where I live, or in Michigan where he lives, but was reasonably certain that when you sell or turn a business over to a family member or anyone else for that matter, that they not only are acquiring all assets but all liabilities as well. If he had not filed for bankruptcy before turning it over and notified all debtors in writing then the new owner would be responsible for those orders. She also suggested that anyone who did not receive there orders or a refund contact their state Attorney General to see what can done on their part as every states laws vary. It has been less than a year since he took down the website so he is still responsible for those orders even if they are 4 years old like mine. Depending upon how many orders where taken and how much money was collected he could be looking at federal mail fraud charges. If he was selling internationally, well that's a whole different story. Keeping his website up and still taking orders when he hadn't filled orders that were years old, basically shows he had no intention of ever filling them. It makes you wonder just how many folks out there lost their money. Could be a thousand or more and at an average of let's say $100 per order. That's a big chunk of money.
  3. It appears Motor City Resin Casters is somewhat back in business. He is now going by the name Renaissance City Resin Casters and selling on Ebay as jebal_19. Currently he has about a dozen different kits listed. I haven't attempted to contact him through Ebay about the kits or refund I never received. I'm certain it would be in violations of their rules and don't want to jeopardize my ability to sell. I know he stopped answering my emails more than a year ago as with everyone else he owes money to. Just thought I should pass this info to all.
  4. I've been waiting 3 years now for my order. Jeff stopped answering my emails about a year ago. He has now finally shut down the website. I guess that all of us who haven't received our orders probably won't.
  5. Nice work. Love the black and whites. Could you tell me where the dog dish hubcaps caps came from? Been looking for some just like them.
  6. Very nice! Looks like it was meant to be. Always wondered if the 1/32 pump body would fit well with a 1/25 cab. Now I know.
  7. Awesome work Dwayne. Can't wait to get my hands on this one. If your taking orders put me down for 3 of them.
  8. Really awesome job. I bought one of these from Shapeways so I know how much work you put in to this. Maybe I'll get mine done someday. Keep up the great work.
  9. Hi Dwayne, was wondering if you're taking orders for this one yet??? Could use two or three of them.
  10. Wow! Didn't know you could make those Daytonas look so good. Have a couple of these. Might have to tackle one some day myself. Great work. Can't wait to see it finished
  11. That turned out great. Keep up the awesome work!!! I got to get back to building. Been busy with yardwork for the last week and a half. Soon hopefully???
  12. I wasn't going to start on this yet but got a bit antsy waiting for paint to dry on the Chevelle yesterday. Cleaned up the body a bit and shot with primer. Still needs some work. Did some adjusting to the suspension to get it to sit better but still not exactly where I want it. Monogram sbc engine fits right in. Going to put it aside for now and finish up a couple of other projects first.
  13. Very nice looking build. Love the engine detail. Great work!
  14. Very nice!!! Is this a plastic kit or diecast?
