  1. Welcome to the gang Zach. Lots of good folks here.
  2. I'm looking for one for a 1962 Buick Electra by AMT that's currently undergoing a semi restoration. I attempted to carefully remove a bear that was glued to the original but the top broke in half with the bear still attached to one of the pieces. I'm also looking for two screws to attach the chassis to the body via the posts. Will trade. Thanks.
  3. Welcome aboard Steve. We have a great crew here.
  4. The 62 Buick Electra convertible arrived in the mail while I was at work and a neighbor held onto it for safe keeping until I got home. First thing was to give it a complete bath and it cleaned up real nice and the paint job was surprisingly decent given it was done by a rookie. Next was I ditched the hideous front end pictured above and the custom rear panel. Both will be replaced with the stock units along with taking care of other quarks. I'll upload pictures when it's complete
  5. Since I bought the 62 Buick Electra convertible from E Bay over the weekend as my next project, I've gotten slammed with 11 offers to buy builds at reduced prices that I haven't even looked at. I turned them all down. It's like having to deal with used car salesmen who use high pressure sales tactics on anybody who's just walking past their lots.
  6. I always forget to log out when I'm done.
  7. The latest from E Bay. It's an amateur build 62 Buick Electra 225 convertible. It's hideous looking especially the front end but thankfully, I have the majority of the replacement parts including the stock one piece front bumper/grill and rear bumper. I'll start on this once the work on the Hubley 60 Ford sedan is done. The first thing is to give it a bath once it arrives.
  8. "SWEET" is the only word that comes to mind. We can't wait to see when it's complete.
  9. A small box of spare parts for two nice rebuilders arrived in the mail at my house just a short time ago from the same E Bay vendor in Seattle that I recently got the Lotus racer from. I didn't have them in my parts stash but he certainly did and cheap to boot.
  10. The Lotus racer that I got from E Bay will come with it's original box and what I found about it came as a surprise. It was made by a company that I haven't even heard of called "Industro-Motive. I did some online detective work and all I could find on it was that it was based in Troy Michigan like AMT was and it only had a brief existence back in the 60s. If anybody is familiar with the company's history, please feel free to share.
  11. Welcome to the gang John. Lost of good members here and helpful to boot.
  12. My latest acquisition of off E Bay from a great vendor out of Seattle that I've been doing business with for a long time and for a song. It'll look good on a vintage trailer that's hooked to a nicely built 65 Chevy El Camino that I got from the same vendor eons ago. Here it is from E Bay.
  13. The school kids have next week off so I'll be taking it easy as I resume a couple of model car projects that I had to put on hold because of my job and other things that needed attention.
  14. The trailer that I got from E Bay last month bounced between post offices around the Boston Metro area for a few days like a rubber ball before the USPS finally got it's act right and sent it to my address. I kept the seller in the loop until I could leave him a positive feedback. He said he's never heard anything like before as an E Bay vendor.
  15. Agreed. I read something online not long ago that stated China has claimed the tooling that was sent over there by the current Revell owners as state property.
  16. I saw the box of the California Street Vette in the photo. It's another Tom Daniels creation. I thought of that a couple of time before.
  17. Thank you for taking the time out to take photos of those old buildings and cars Brain. I had a chance to look over the photos of old gas stations in another thread that you took photos of that were just as cool.
  18. Even in today's economy, it's good to see that we modelers here are still snapping up deals like the ones posted. 🙂
  19. The latest to my growing promo fleet. A Hubley 1960 Ford sedan that I got off of E Bay an hour ago and for a song. It's missing the right windshield pillar which I can rectify w/o issues and part of the rear bumper is gone but a good used one from my parts stash is on deck to replace it. Here it is from E Bay.
  20. My late dad had a side job pumping gas at a Sinclair station years ago that a friend of his managed. It was located on Riverside Ave, In Medford Mass. It had the company's mascot Dino The Dinosaur painted on the roof of the station. The station is still there to this day but it's a it's a self serve Sunoco. I miss the old school stations.
  21. I got to watch the 1963 comedy classic "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" and in it's entirety last night on a site out of the UK called BitChute. It's similar to our YouTube.
