The summer camp has wrapped up today and it's 5 days of R&R for me. The camp and my school bus company inked a new 3 year contract this week and before leaving my final stop in Boston the, staff and kids presented a $100 dollar gift card to me for Stop & Shop supermarkets. I never saw that coming but it'll take some pressure off of my bank account. It made my day. 🙂

I've seen Chevettes packing Vortec V6s and the occasional small Chevy small block but never a 427 big block. The car looks factory and is a real sleeper. However, the owner had to really and I mean really had to strengthen the car's unibody so it wouldn't get turned into a pretzel by the engine's torque.

I'm home for now but it's sunny, dry and a crisp 65 degrees in Metro Boston.

The summer camp that we've been servicing wraps up all activity next Thursday. Afterwards, 5 days of R&R and school starts next Wednesday. 90% of our fleet has stayed up and running especially during the hot days. The mechanics have been checking all of the fluids in the busses especially the coolant twice weekly. The big boss runs a tight ship.

I got an E mail from Atlantis yesterday about it. It's taking pre orders on it's website and it has clear glass to boot. It's box art.

I got a summons this past weekend to report for jury duty on the 28th of this month. That's also the first day of the school that I do my runs out of. However, the GM has my run covered.

Another three day weekend for me again. The summer camp my school bus company services is bringing in the final batch of new campers for orientation so it's closed for today. However, we drivers will get paid for it. One of my job's perks. 🙂

He's the fourth well known person that left us in a week. First it was Terry "Hulk" Hogan, then it was Chuck Mangione and Loni Anderson passed away this past weekend. May all four RIP. 😞

Sunny and low 70s all weekend. A little day road trip to New Hampshire in the Corolla is planned for Sunday.

Model cars. When I was a teen years ago, I'd hop the bus to Woolworth's after Christmas and buy model kits that were part of the store's after holiday clearance sale for $2 each. Mostly it was MPCs

I broke my favorite coffee mug last night and while I told another driver about it this morning, our GM overheard it and came out of his office with not one but two new coffee mugs and gave them to me. Both have the company's name and logo. WHAT GUY!

The summer camp cancelled all activities today because it's real scorcher outside but the drivers and I will still get paid for it. I'm in AC City for today.

The thunderstorm that came through Boston yesterday took the humidity with it and it's sunny and pleasantly warm today. I could hop into my very trusty 08 Corolla and take a cruise but I'm too lazy to leave my place. The AC is doing a great job.

A good thunderstorm is moving through my area at the moment. It should cool some of of the high temperatures that we're having here in the Metro Boston area.

Roughly 10 minutes before I was to head out the door to work, I got a text message from the GM of my school bus company that said the summer camp has cancelled all activities due to the high temps for today. The heat index is expected to be 103 degrees in the Metro Boston area. However, the drivers will get paid for it and since it's Friday and payday, I'll get to have a three day weekend. It's AC city for me. OH YEAH!

The boss didn't mention this but 4 new busses arrived today and they were being prepped by the mechanics even as I was returning from my camp run late this afternoon. He wants them ready to go by the time school starts late next month.

Quite pleasant here in the Metro Boston area. Partly sunny, dry and 81 degrees is on tap for today. The weekend looks to be the same.

Salvage yards that still have vintage Detroit Iron in them are becoming far and fewer these days. Thank you for sharing the pics with us. 🙂

The summer camp that my school bus company is under contract with cancelled all activities due to the heat but we drivers will get paid for it. And a short time ago, I go home from the VA clinic from having blood work done and to meet with my doctor about my blood pressure and changing some of my medication for it. Everything went well. I'm now chillin in front of my AC.
