  1. No school for the kids today and next week so I'll be taking it easy. Today was a nice sunny day so a lady friend and I went to New Hampshire for the day and the 08 Corolla I bought recently performed flawlessly. We even had a great lunch at a family owned restaurant up there before coming home.
  2. Old Man Winter is still hanging tough in some parts of the country.
  3. This weekend will be third one in a row that'll be rainy with some snow in the mix and with chilly temps and wind. GRRR!
  4. The rain that Boston got since this past weekend has finally moved out and it'll be mainly sunny for the next couple of days. However, the temps will drop into the mid to high 20s tonight and it'll be chilly on Wednesday. Old Man Winter is still hanging in there even as we enter the second month of April.
  5. Cool. The Dart looks great BTW. Your skills are excellent.
  6. I checked the label after the Drat arrived and it's him. It's sure a small world.
  7. No word from the current owners of Revell if they have the Early Iron kits after they bought many of the Revell/Monogram tooling following the Hobbico bankruptcy. If they don't have them, Atlantis may along with Tom Daniels kits not including the ones it currently released.
  8. Weatherwise, it's a repeat of last weekend. Drizzles, cool and raw so a nice drive in my newly purchased 09 Corolla is out of the question.
  9. When the Dodge arrives early next week, I'll check the label and see if he's the sender.
  10. The 08 Corolla is now registered, insured and inspected as of today. However, when I got to my mechanic's shop where he does state inspections for the sticker today, he said I missed my old Accord by an hour. It was taken away on a rollback truck to the big junkyard in the sky. He jokingly said that as it was leaving, The "Taps" music that's played by the bugler at military funerals was conducted. RIP old friend.
  11. I checked his YouTube channel and he hasn't posted a video in over two years. Others over there are asking the same question
  12. I didn't see the name. The seller is in Florida.
  13. I thought I bested the styrene bug but it came back and bit me hard so here's my latest purchase from E Bay and quite affordable.
  14. I recently saw "Thunderheart" online where he played an FBI agent who was part Sioux Indian. A versatile actor for sure. RIP dude.
  15. Would you remember an old TV series that didn't last and long forgotten?. I remember such a show from 1974 that was a crime drama on ABC. It was called "Chopper One" It only lasted 13 episodes but it has a real cool opening. It proceeded "Blue Thunder" and "Airwolf by a decade.
  16. It's a repeat of yesterday and it even snowed for a brief time. Oh, well it's a good day to stay indoors with a hot drink and watch classic movies online.
  17. Chilly with light rain in the Metro Boston area today. Some improvement is coming for Sunday.
  18. My school bus broke down on the final run of the day and the GM had to sent another and the tow truck. Thankfully, the monitor, (A lady assistant) kept the kids calm much of the time. The GM called the school and the school in turn notified all parents via citywide texting that their kids will be late coming home and as to the reason why. The bus will be in the shop for a while while I drive one of the spares for now.
  19. One of the best things in life is old friends reuniting after many years apart. Glad that you two reconnected.
  20. I'll be closing the deal with my mechanic this week on the 08 Toyota Corolla that I bought from him. It's been a great 7 years with the 97 Accord but it deserves a well earned retirement. It'll be traded and cash for the Corolla .
  21. More information on the ship which includes a land museum that'll exhibit it's two smoke stakes after they're completely refurbished back to their original appearance.
  22. Agreed. She's part of our maritime history.
  23. A new ride for me. I left a deposit today on an 08 Toyota Corolla that I made a deal on with my mechanic who was selling it. It belonged to another customer who took care of it. Although it has 170.000 on the clock, it runs great, the body is in dang good shape and the underside metal is solid and it's a Toyota. He also offered to take the Accord in as trade although I never asked why. If I play my cards right, it'll be on the road inside of two weeks. 🙂
  24. Got back from a nice visit and lunch with my cousins. The husband of one of them did my taxes and I'll be getting a nice refund from the federal and state governments. It'll be put it towards my next car to replace the trusty Accord which is showing it's age.
  25. We discussed the Texas in another thread sometime back so here's an update on BB 35. She finally has a new homeport and her restoration work seems to be in the home stretch. She looks real good today. It's been a long four years since she first entered drydock.
