  1. Stupidity and greed go hand and hand.
  2. "Death Car on The Freeway" from 1979 with Shelly Hack in the lead role as a reporter investigating mysterious accident on LA's freeways.
  3. I'm hoping one of the vendors has one model that I've been looking for which is a built MPC 1974 Chevrolet Caprice 2 Dr. I had one but I sold it off as part of a batch of nicely built cars back around 2014 when I was in a bit of a cash crunch. I've been kicking myself in the hiney since. Should have kept it.
  4. BB is an absolute beast. It was in the right place and the right time when it was asked to push a disabled train. Between it and BB's own cars, it got the job done. In the first minute of the video, as one on BB's crew members sets up the couple in front of it, we can get see how big it is. And a little fact, there's a locomotive that many though as a helper locomotive for BB when it's job is to only provide power to the cars that are being pulled. BB is the one putting in all of the work.
  5. A short week for the school kids and I'm happy as well. One more day and it's the weekend off. And the boss man will be paying the drivers holiday pay for Labor Day.
  6. I never really was a good photographer Al but Peter has that department covered.
  7. It's scheduled for October 6th at The Elks Lodge In Lawrence Mass. I'll be there and hopefully I get to meet a member or two of the forum. http://classicplastic.org/CPMC-show-flyer-2024.pdf
  8. The trusty Accord was in the shop yesterday for a new battery, tune up and a couple of small issues and it's running fantastic. The new plugs really smoothed out the rough idling the car had. And the bill was reasonable. A little cruising is in store for this weekend which is expected to be nice and fall like in New England.
  9. I believe classic 4dr cars are becoming more popular because their two door brethren command much higher prices and that they're more plentiful. Even station wagon versions have been gaining in popularity in recent years.
  10. I'm not experiencing any problems.
  11. I haven't been around much for over a month due to my work schedule but the summer camp that my school bus company is under contract with wrapped up all activities on Thursday. I was also involved with charter work on some weekends. I'm now on a four day weekend until school resumes next Tuesday. For now, I'm doing absolutely nothing but relax. And my poor school bus will be in the shop getting checked by our crack mechanic.
  12. The forum is running much more smoothly. Thank you for taking the time and effort to rectify it all Dave.
  13. I've been having problems logging in for the last couple of days. I thought it was my computer or internet hook up but both check out. Even the old modem is still performing as it should.
  14. I had two Junker Fieros in long stem storage but they did not have the mirrors. Thanks for the lead Steve. Hopefully it'll help Bart.
  15. Another text from my school bus company's GM came in awhile ago. Tomorrow will be the same as today.
  16. I went to the post office not long ago to purchase two money orders for a couple of bills and it was empty. I'm guessing the 100 degree heat that's cooking the Metro Boston area (Today only) is keeping people home. I just zipped in and out of the facility.
  17. Right after I got home from work, I got a text message from the General Manager of my bus company that said the summer camp that we're under contract with for 13 buses has cancelled everything for tomorrow due the heat. It'll be close to 100 in Boston according to the weather report. However, the other drivers and I will still be getting paid. It's AC City for me. ?
  18. Have a good time and be safe out there.
  19. An update on John Force dated yesterday. He was moved to a rehabilitation center. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/motor/2024/07/09/john-force-update-nhra-legend-moved-to-rehabilitation-center/74342089007/
  20. I'm in Everett Massachusetts which is right next to the historic Charlestown area of Boston.
  21. I took a head count of my entire model car collection including the promos and the number now stands at 131. I never thought that I'd acquire that many. However, on the positive side, I have well over 80% of the cars and trucks that I've wanted over the years. I have no room left to display more. Time to give the plastic a rest.
  22. I got my school bus card in the mail this morning from my state's DMV. Without it, I can't earn a paycheck. I'm ready for another year.
  23. My paycheck from the week before last never got direct deposited last Friday so I went in yesterday to see why. It turned out it was a clerical error on the part of the lady who does the payroll and she apologized for it. I'll get the paycheck and one for the personal days that I cashed this coming Friday.
  24. I'm glad that John was able to walk away from the wreck thanks to the strict rules and regs that the NHRA has in place as Mike 1017 pointed out. He's 75 and despite the accident. he won't hang up his racing helmet anytime soon. His daughter Brittany who's also involved in NHRA drag racing is said to have given out the biggest sigh of relief that her dad is OK.
