Old Coyote Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) ... I believe that the partnership of John Keeling and Jerry Clayton produced some of the most beautiful drag racing vehicles of the '60's and '70's ............ with their trademark blue paint jobs by George Cerny, they stood out from most of the other vehicles that graced the dragstrips during those times ........... here are my renditions of three of their famous rides 1971 Front Engine Dragster driven by Rick Ramsey 1974 Rear Engine Dragster driven by Rick Ramsey 1977 Firebird Funny Car driven by Neil Leffler Edited December 7, 2015 by Old Coyote
Renegade Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Beautiful builds of some great cars. I miss the old days of custom paint and graphics.
GTJUNIOR Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Three very cool looking dragsters. Nice work.
gtx6970 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Very nice,Especially the 1st one. Best of all back then the cars were actually painted and not a vinyl wrap
Mister Twister Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Those are exciting to see John..........Beautiful as usual! Lots of decal work on the FC..I still have a set of those that are unopened.
Nacho Z Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.....I love the graphics on all three!
10thumbs Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 An excellent trio. As always very cleanly built and gorgeous paint. You do very nice work and I enjoy seeing these.
Romell R Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Good lookin builds , I remember building all three of those as a kid in the 70's... Excellent job keep up the good work
Hammerdown Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Great looking builds John, they look like the real thing. One of the classiest paint schemes ever applied to a Quarter Pounder. I always thought wheel pants looked so cool on cars like Hot Tuna, Jade Grenade, Wheeler Dealer, TV Tommy Ivo and this fantastic looking KC car, back in the golden days of drag racing. Thanks for posting your exceptional work.
Roadrunner Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Excellent. I've wanted to tackle the first dragster for quite a while, 1:16 scale I think.
Silver Foxx Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 These are great looking builds , your paint and decal work is always so nice .
D. Battista Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Very nice job on all 3you sure can decal....!
10thumbs Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Somehow I find it difficult is to paint a model in a blue color.I love blue, my favorite color. When I try a cool looking (blue is a cold color) dark blue it just doesn't come out like I'd wish. These are very nice examples of different blues.
