afx
Thanks Bo. I've picked the exterior color: Testors MM-Sand Beige. My best guess is the car was "Prairie Tan" I've painted the interior tub "Wimbledon White" - at least for now. May paint it body color. I haven't found any interior shots but it looks fairly light in color. Edited June 1, 2017 by afx

afx
Great pictures Gary-thank you! I need to re-think my color choice, looks more like "Navajo Beige" with black interior. Any idea what the orange panel at the back is? Edited June 1, 2017 by afx
mecklm
Orange = fuel cell?
afx
Fuel Cells were not allowed in '67.
Mike Chernecki
The Falcon looks great. My guess is the color is Chantilly Beige Poly.https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:1964_Ford_Falcon_Futura_Sedan_(15279238270).jpghttp://topclassiccarsforsale.com/ford/205002-1964-thunderbird-coupe.htmlhttp://mustangattitude.com/cgi-bin/showcarm.cgi?pic=/1964/1964_00005_02
Xingu
I wonder if that is some sort of protection for the fuel tank that was added because the rear bumper was removed.
afx
Thanks Mike C and if your guess is right Sand Beige isn't miles off. Edited June 1, 2017 by afx
afx
You could be right Mike H. it may be protection or just to draw attention to the fact a stock gas tank is right there in harm's way.
Mark IV
I doubt that as the fuel filler is in direct opposition to the SCCA GCR regs, note the "quick-fill" cap on the decklid as opposed to the stock filler dead center in the rear fascia. If I recall (and my mind is well wasted) "safety" upgrades would trump (but not Donald) the stated GCR regulations so a fuel cell would likely have been "OK" and obviously is being filled from above the stock filler location.I do believe the regulations you posted are not the SCCA "GCR"s but an international (i.e. not "Murican" like God intended) version and therefor may vary. Mike Chernecki
Btw, the Chantilly Beige is a metallic not solid beige. The color photos do look like a metallic paint.
afx
Thanks for checking in Rick. Here is the link I pulled the page from: http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=7850.0 The race car looks metallic to me as well Mike but the 4-door Falcon above looks solid(?!). Tamiya makes "Light Sand Metallic". Might be the way to go if I can find it.
RancheroSteve
MCW carries a Chantilly Beige Metallic - # 6441.http://www.mcwautomotivefinishes.com/paint/ford.htmlAnd so does Scale Finishes: http://www.scalefinishes.com/1964Ford.html
afx
Thanks Steve. I don't have a spray booth to allow me to shot solvent base paints so I have to stick with rattle cans I can spray outside.

I'm going to have to stay with my original comment that the earlier photo shows a fuel cell. Minor technicality, overall, since your cars always turn out looking like the real deal. Either way will look awesome.
mustang1989
Can't rotate the battery without rebuilding the inner fender so I am going to leave it as is. Remember to deduct for this if your scoring at home. Now that's funny right there!!!!!!!!!! You sure know how to put on a good show JC! Really whippin' this one into shape. Looks terrific man.
