Greg Myers Posted March 1, 2018 Author Posted March 1, 2018 (edited) And some real renditions. Edited March 1, 2018 by Greg Myers
Greg Myers Posted March 1, 2018 Author Posted March 1, 2018 Just seems like a great theme for a club contest.
Greg Myers Posted March 1, 2018 Author Posted March 1, 2018 More on this one. http://www.hotrod.com/articles/1955-chevy-gasser-build/
Jantrix Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 I've had this kit a couple of times, but that wonky molded front drivers door line overlap makes me chuck it back on the pile until it ends up traded away.
Dirty Dave Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 Hey! There's my pickup rendition! Also built a resin conversion based on some Dave Marek artwork. 1
magicmustang Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 (edited) Another real one. Edited April 21, 2018 by magicmustang

That and the roof always looks small for the rest of the body. Oh and oversized 1/24th scale.
russosborne Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 Just to voice a different opinion, this is my all time favorite kit. It might not be perfect for some, which is fine, but it is to me. Now I have to go to eBay and buy another one. Thanks, Greg. Russ
Greg Myers Posted March 1, 2018 Author Posted March 1, 2018 The BADMAN kit was based on Monograms original 1955 Chevrolet Customizing kit. Thus the weird issues Rob Mattis listed above.

Snake45 Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 Very cool! I wish I'd bought one of those diecasts when they were available. It's the more attractive (IMHO) 2DS body style. I assume it has the same basis as the American Graffiti '55? (Did they ever do a diecast 2LB '55?_

Not getting one right now for sure. At least I have one in my stash. But this is one I always want to have at least one in the house in addition to the one being built. I honestly can't have enough of these. Russ

randyc Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 This was one of my faves as a kid. As a kid, who couldn't love Tom Daniels' kits. Molded in color and wild hot rod stuff. Epic. So as the nostalgai sets in , i did build one as an adult and it was every bit of fun. No attempt to make it super realistic, just use best building skills I could. Then it got knocked off the shelf. I still have it bagged for rebuild.

Greg Myers Posted March 2, 2018 Author Posted March 2, 2018 I thought there was a Hot Wheels version as well.
440 Dakota Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 Revell 25th scale, Hot Wheels and Johnny Lightning as well, kinda amazing neither of them ( Two Lane or AG) or both was released in plastic it is the same car after all
russosborne Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 Saw this while searching for the kit. https://www.ebay.com/itm/JOHNNY-LIGHTNING-10-CAR-WACKY-WINNERS-BADMAN-CHERRY-BOMB-TOM-DANIEL-1996-SET/282854185929?hash=item41db6c5bc9:g:euEAAOSwTA9X2-9k:sc:USPSPriority!85302!US!-1 That would be fun to have, but too much money for me for something like that. Straightliner59 Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 I'm considering doing a Badman with the engine and Lakewood bellhousing from Monogram's '66 Malibu (I have a red one) and a standard trans. It's in the early planning stages, but I have designed a possible set of decals for it. I don't want to stray too far from the Badman, itself. And, I am going to try to keep it fairly straightforward and simple...uh, yeah.
