Koellefornia Kid Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Hard to believe it´s the same model. Well done!
peekay Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Talk about night and day! I'd be saying fantastic, beautiful etc even if you'd built it from a pristine kit.

Also, are you going to vacuum-form a rear window? The adhesive was OK, and the sheet was wrinkle-free. The foil seemed really fragile and easy to rip or chip when burnishing (with a toothpick-same way I've been doing it for years). I prefer the look of the "unzipped" rear window; I remember 'verts cruising around like this when I was a kid. The paint scheme on this kit was inspired by one I used to see in my neighbourhood back in '62.

Maindrian Pace Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 That's a contender for the Save of The Year trophy.
tmb727 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 What were the problems with the BMF? It all looks pretty good to me...
donb Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 That first pic looked like a real car! I agree with all the other folks. Exceptional..

Rdkingjay Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 (edited) What a save!! While we are all our own worst critics, I'd be thrilled with the final result. I'll take a glue bomb resto any day over a fresh kit. I have a Johan Plymouth police wagon I did a similar job on a few years ago. Judging by the colors, build style and generous use of glue, I wouldn't be surprised if they were both built originally by the same builder. Edited January 12, 2019 by Rdkingjay
Smitty Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 These are rarely ever seen. You did a super job bringing it back from the brink....
