Geno Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 (edited) Slowly making progress, still a long way to go though. Thanks for looking and any cool ideas are most certainly welcome. Edited April 17, 2020 by Geno
Geno Posted April 19, 2020 Author Posted April 19, 2020 Waiting on detail items to wrap up the interior and engine. Don't know if anyone else has tried this. I was trying to figure out the best way to paint the gas tank since it is in such a tight area between the frame rails. I used BMF and trimmed around it. I think it gives it a more realistic look versus painting it. Thanks for looking. Any added insight, ideas, thoughts or even criticism is welcome lol. If it helps I'm open.?
mrmike Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 My parents owned Buicks when I was a kid, so I have a soft spot for them. Looking good!
Geno Posted April 20, 2020 Author Posted April 20, 2020 Thanks guys, much appreciated. My partial shipment of detail items has arrived so I'll be back on it tomorrow lol.
stavanzer Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Well, you nailed that Metallic Turquoise Colour, so I like it already.
Geno Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 Interior is done, on to the engine compartment. Thanks all for your interest.
Scalper Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Nice work so far. Interior looks great. Those belts add so much.
Curt Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Oh man, this one’s gonna be sweet! Keep it going, Geno!
gray07 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 looks great, love these buicks, will be following.
yellowsportwagon Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Hemi the gas tank looks real nice. Paint the straps semi gloss black will top it off. Also the top of the console should be woodgrain.
Geno Posted April 22, 2020 Author Posted April 22, 2020 (edited) Thanks guys, I certainly appreciate the kind words. Thanks for the info Tim, I'll get the straps painted. I had considered the woodgrain console but I saw one at a local car show that was all black and liked the look, that's why I went that route. That's what got me wanting to do a GS.? Geno Posted May 3, 2020 Author Posted May 3, 2020 Engine is done,, up next, engine compartment detailing.?
Monty Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Just a quick suggestion if you don't mind. See the two gray "squares" at the front of the air cleaner? Hit 'em with some flat clear. They're a kind of hard foam designed to seal up against the bottom side of the hood's air intake holes. I'm still nuts about the body color you chose. Really makes this build stand out.
Geno Posted May 5, 2020 Author Posted May 5, 2020 Thanks all, I do appreciate it. Monty, I did do that but it still didn't knock it down, maybe I'll need to do it again. Thanks for the suggestion. though.☺️
