89AKurt
Anyone ever attempt the Jimmy Lyle, Quad Al 4 Allison engine monster? ? Where is the gas tank?
misterNNL
A quick Google search reveals the gas tank was not needed because the engines had no internal parts. The car was a show piece only.
paul alflen
Kurt , the restored car shows a moon tank below the side exhaust. Google Jim Lytle "Quad Al" Dragster , there is a nice Utube video of it!

DonW
I suspect the front two engines drove the front axle and the rear two the back axle. So it would cancel itself out. However, it might overheat in traffic with that grille blanked off...! Seriously it's a crying shame this never got built up to run. Cheers, -Don. Mark
Jim Lytle built a model of it, before building the 1:1 car. A Rod & Custom article on the car includes a photo of Lytle holding the model.

I believe this is at the NHRA museum. I've also seen pictures of a 1/8 scale model in progress, but that was years ago and I have no idea who posted it, or to what forum.
