The Monogram classics do build up nice right out of the box, and a little extra work could turn them into something really special.  It wouldn't surprise me if Revell Germany was still holding on to them.

I have looked off and on for the original issue of this one (molded in tan). Dad built one when I was a kid and it would be fun to recreate it. None of the ones I have seen on the auction site have inspired me to buy however.

EDIT: Yeah, I hate the peer pressure around here. I just bought a decent looking one on FleaBay. If it is missing parts, there seems to be quite a few junkers coming up.

I've got Dad's tan version which had some minor damage.  Monogram sent me a few parts many years ago to restore it, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.  These kits are really nice.

Gotta wonder why that Bugatti didn't resurface in SSP in the mid/late Nineties...pretty sure Monogram was producing a kit of a modern one then, so licensing shouldn't have been an issue...

I know there hit the shelves here in Canada, and I remember they were priced more in line with Revell Germany's products at the time.   I did pick one up, but it has since been lost in a move.

I wonder if Atlantis has this tooling?

I'd be up for it to be out again.

I suspect, however, that the tooling in in Europe someplace. (Possibly Poland, alot of RoG seems to be molded there)

Atlantis made some kits and seemed too go quiet. Are they making kits at the moment?

I feel like Atlantis ran some kits that were ready to run and generate some cash fast. I hope there are other good car kits that maybe need parts tooled or repaired.  There a many kits that SHOULD be in the deal.....kits that were never sent to China or Poland and would have been in storage in ILL.

Any word on what happened to the '56 Buick that was supposed to be released? I sent an email to Atlantis & never heard back.  I wonder if any of the '55/56 Mercury tooling survived.

Just heard from the owner a couple of days ago. Sounds like more is coming....TB

They had a cool in-progress C-cab that they displayed at a show earlier in the year that I liked!  There's a discussion about it on here somewhere...

The engine in the photo does look like an early Cad OHV V8 judging by the water pump, intake manifold, and headers. It looks an awful lot like the old Revell parts pack caddy engine. I wonder what the second mill will be, any guesses?

Not a clue…but here’s the T and the C Cab that I remember being displayed at wherever it was.  These screenshots are from a video interview with Jim Keeler:

Note the little white tub marked “Chrysler for 27” ?

C-cab looks like it is based on the Tweedy Pie kit, while the T-bucket is another parts pack mashup (not that that is a bad thing!).  Hopefully at some point Atlantis will run that suspension parts tree through the plating equipment, and get around to putting the Buick V8 engine pack into the rotation.

And if they do decide to tool a '27 roadster body, sign me up for a few.
