GMP440 Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 Saw this at Hobby Lobby the other day. Love the back in the day style of boxart,
64Comet404 Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 Considering it's age, the kit is actually pretty nice. It's amazing the amount of detail Revell was able to engrave back in the mid-1950s.
Mark Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 Does this kit include clear parts? All of the glass would be flat, no big deal either way. Anyone know which kit has a 1/48 scale Allison engine?
Dave Van Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 $12 with 40% off not a bad deal......I do not think it has clear windows.....not the early version the model train guys have built.....but they added their own. easy.
cobraman Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 I built one a few months ago. It does not have windows but they are easy to make. The multi piece body is a little tough to get right IMO but nothing most people cant do. I builds up pretty nice.

Notice on lower right hand corner of box, "scaled from official prints". This kit and the Kenworth kits were very nice if your into this smaller scale.

There was a caster who made a resin copy of the parts years ago, but can't remember who it was.

Since that's 1:48 scale, they also fit with quarter-scale aircraft models. I've seen a super-detailed build of the White gas truck but can't remember who did it. Here's a great conversion of the COE White into a tow truck, also using parts from the Chevy Stakebed. https://myp48.wordpress.com/2017/10/28/modeling-white-coe-tow-truck/

Pete68 Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Looks good. I’ve been working on one with Don Mills For about a year now off and on I’ll try to get some pics of it
leafsprings Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 (edited) Is the Atlantis Chevy stake really a LCF, low cab forwardk, inside the box? I thought the original was a conventional cab. Edited December 5, 2020 by leafsprings

I thought the original was a conventional cab. No, the box artist messed up, as someone here mentioned a few months ago. Atlantis was notified, but it appears they elected to keep the incorrect box art. On 9/6/2020 at 11:17 AM, Mark said: Does this kit include clear parts? stavanzer Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Atlantis will sell you the Newly Tooled Glass for the fuel truck. It never had any before, but Atlantis tooled up brand new parts. https://atlantis-models.com/clear-windshield-glass-set-for-the-vintage-gas-truck/ All future issues of the truck will get glass. Also, the Chevy Stakebed has brand new glass also, and every kit "should" ship with the glass.
Dutch Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Woohoo! I had heard at the 2019 IPMS Nats that they had announced they would do the clear parts for the old Revell 1/48 series kits. I have been patiently waiting clear parts for the Chevy 2-Ton Stake truck, White Gas Tanker, Ford F-100 Pickup & police motorcycle, and the Honest John with Mobile Carrier (K-worth W900) (1/54). Thanks for the link. I ordered the Chevy & White clear parts today. Any news on if/when they will release the Ford pickup and K-worth glass? Two down, two to go! Kind regards, Dutch

I was pretty sure Atlantis added the clear parts to all of the old Revell truck kits that didn't have any. Steve
