AMT68 Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 This is my first post here of a model I posted last summer on the now defunct Scale Auto forum. Build is from the mid 80's AMT/ERTL release of a 1/25 scale '72 Chevelle SS-454. Painted in Tamiya TS-18 Metallic Red and top coated with Tamiya TS-13 gloss clear. Rally wheels are from the AMT '69 Chevelle SS kit.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Looks good! Hopefully AMT/Round 2 has this one in their re-issue plans!
AMT68 Posted December 6, 2020 Author Posted December 6, 2020 Thanks Lee and Craig. I agree this kit would be a good candidate for a reissue.
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Add some stripes and you have my old car, lol.
the other Mike S. Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 (edited) Nice clean build! The two tone white and black interior really makes the interior pop. Yeah, definitely a good reissue candidate since we haven't seen the ('72) in quite awhile. Edited December 6, 2020 by the other Mike S.
1972coronet Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Nice , clean build of one of my favourite kits ! Truly time for a reissue of this kit (maybe a modified-reissue with parts to build a 1971 as well !) . I like that it has the LS-6 and Cowl Induction parts from the 1970 edition . I've built two examples of "What If...? 1972 LS-6 phantoms ( parts box brake booster and master cylinder rounded the otherwise-barren engine compartment) . How about it , Round2 ? Time for this bad boy to return ! A decal sheet with SS stripes *and* Heavy Chevy marques would be great !
doorsovdoon Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Nicely done. I like the hood bulge and Rally wheels on this. Would definitely like to build one of these myself.
espo Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 I like your color choice and a great finish. Look forward to seeing more of your builds in the future.

And I do have tendency towards white interiors on my kits.

It seemed to me there were a lot of carry over parts from not only the '70 but even the '69 kit. And yeah "Heavy Chevy" decals would be great on a future release.

I've been following this site as a guest for some time now and I'm quite impressed with the talent of the modelers. Thanks Gareth. I'd been wanting to do one myself for quite a while when I purchased this kit in the spring. The older kits don't come up often and finding a reasonable price can also be a challenge.
