bbowser Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 AMT kit, Speedway decals. This is a pretty old mold and the kit was not easy to get together. Vague instructions, no precise part locating aids, it took a lot of test fitting and consulting google images to try to get it right. Looking at the pics there are a couple of things I would do differently but in all I'm pretty happy with it. Comments welcome, thanks for looking! 2
Belugawrx Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 (edited) Nice job on the Eagle Bruce! I can never get over how small those rockets really were, just look at the size of Bobby in the last pic...wow Cheers Edited March 14, 2022 by Belugawrx
sflam123 Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Really nice job on this one!! IMO, this is a poorly engineered kit and difficult to make it look good! You did a great job!!
Rich Chernosky Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Looks good to me Bruce, Those kits are no walk in the park. I think you did well.
TonyK Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Your finished model looks very good. And yes, these kits weren't very good but glad we got them anyway.
Hans1971 Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Nice result ! Maybe you should have sanded the tyres ?
Justin Porter Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Definitely looks good regardless of the fight. These kits and their Mclaren and Penske sisters are full of strange engineering choices on AMT's part.
1959scudetto Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Very nice model of a not-so-easy kit ! (I had the '73 Gordon Johncock STP version, but never got to it and finally sold it)
Brudda Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Great job!!! The amt kits are very difficult to build. I have a few and yours looks amazing. I look at them and then put them away. Super build!
dragin70s Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Very nice. Love the old Indy cars, fell in love with them after attending the Indy 500 n '70 at age six. Thank you for adding a great Indy build to this board, fun to see.
