Ye olde Dremel turned aggressive on me and now I will have to sleeve down the vents.  On well.

High speed Dremel bits do have a taste for plastic....that's a fact.  At least you have a fix in mind.

I really should have known better.  I drilled holes first thinking I could control the holes but as I tried to join the holds together and even out the top and bottom things got away from me.

After finishing off the tail piece.

I decided the center and nose were not up to par paint wise.  So into the brake fluid they went.  Surprisingly the brake fluid took off the top coat of the Tamiya white paint but left the primer.  An added benefit was that the side windows were loosened enough that I could pop them out and buff and Future them to get the glue mark out.

Now the real challenge is to mask and spray on the dark blue.

Mockup of the body.

While waiting for some paint to dry I tired printing headlights from a photo in my files.  It took several tries to get the size right and then to print on photo paper.  They will look better once the headlight buckets are painted.

The mockup looks really good Gary. What is the plan for headlights, printed photos or you have actual parts going in?

I have the original chrome headlights which I am not fond of.

I have the Modellers Light Lens Set which I could back with BMF but have not had real good luck with.

Or try using the cut out photos which I have not done before.

Any suggestions anybody?

You beat me to posting Pierre.  I used the punch on duct tape and will attach some clear lenses from the parts box and see how that goes.  Thanks for the suggestions.

Just a mock up thus the panel gaps.  I am not happy with the masking and the blue is too dark so debating whether to strip and repaint.  My friend Scott Kercher taught me "if you can see it then others will too."

Splash!  That was the sound of the nose and mid-section body going in the brake fluid pond.  Then totally without explanation this showed up in a parts box.
