Revell 1970 24 hr LeMans Winning Porsche 917KH

I just ordered and received my 1970 24hr LeMans Winning Porsche 971KH kit. I am not real familiar with these cars and am looking for some reference photos to aid in my building of this car.  I have been able to find exterior photos of the restored(?) car but no interior shots. Would like a few interior and engine shots as it ran in 1970 even though the kit doesn't have an engine in it.

 

Has anyone built this kit before? Anything to watch for?

The decals can be a bit tricky.   This is actually a Fujimi kit reboxed as a Revell.

I did the  similar 71 Le Mans winner kit (Martini livery). Very good kit, you will enjoy it.

The French slot car link is a great resource.  They show one engine shot which is one I have in my files and almost sent but I don't think it is #23 because it shows black injection covers and other exterior shots of #23 are red covers.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programing.

I agree with you Devon.  You can make out the orange stripe with black border.

So i got a question - why hasn’t anyone figured out how to make a bare fiberglass decal ???

I think I have seen it on spot model. No idea what it was like

Because bare fiberglass (at least on the 917s) is actually translucent.
