cooltoys1 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 (edited) This one sucked, nothing fit right, very warped panels, air bubbles and everything else. Hours of sanding to make things flat, but paint went on nice. Code AA Tuxedo Black. If i were to do a real 1:1, this is how i see it. Edited June 19, 2009 by cooltoys1
hellonwheelz3 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Well for all the problems you say you had, that sure turned out nice! And if you pictured that as your own ride, you got good taste bud! Great Job!!
old-hermit Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Well for all the problems you say you had, that sure turned out nice! Great Job!! Ditto .
george 53 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 REAL NICE build! I had a chance to buy a 67 427 Biscayne back in 74, for 1500.00 bucks caz of the gas crunch, just didn't have the money! Your build came out GREAT!!!!
RodneyBad Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Looks Great. I'd own one like that.. Your effort paid off great. Great work
carrucha Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Nice work on the Biscayne. Glad you didn't give up on the build. I've had builds that have fought me all of the way. The satisfaction of finishing a hard build is sweet. carrucha
Modlbldr Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 I have to say that I, too, am glad you fought back and won. That turned out beautiful. And you were very brave to paint it black. NICE and SMOOTH!!! Later-
Modlbldr Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Oh! I meant to ask.. What color of red is the interior and did you clear coat it with anything. It has that "just right" look that I want to use on a future build. Later-
cooltoys1 Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 Thanks for all the praises on the "Black Nightmare" If anyone has this car planned in their future, contact me, Ill give you some do's and suggestions. I did the interior in Testors Flat Red #1250, and after it dried, i dusted all the pieces with a gloss clear from real far away, to add a little texture. Thanks! Jay

Jay That turned out with that tough look to it!! I can hear the rap of that big block thumping away and the smell of turbo blue!!
sigmaman Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Very nice work. Shame it 'aint real. Nothing like a 427 "Biscuit" to catch the unwary at the lights.
nascarfan Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Very nice work. Shame it 'aint real. Nothing like a 427 "Biscuit" to catch the unwary at the lights. I'm still not sure how these would have fooled anyone?? The thump from the big block would be a dead give away!! I'd still love to get my mits on a L79 67 chevy II 4 speed!! That little 327 would womp most big blocks!! Solid lifter, domed pistons......................... I have to calm down down
PlasticWagens Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Nice to see persistance pay off rather than end up back in the box for a couple years. Black cars with red guts always look nice. Stunning execution.
Semi Trailer Mechanic Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 What's goin' on... Well done. A friend of mine has a 1967 Capris 327 400 turbo bucket seats ratchet shifter. Light blue w/ a black vynal top restored 100% factory stock. Driving it normal it's a serious sleeper. Punching it that thing comes to LIFE!!! The way you built yours reminds me of that one obviously not the exterior/interior colors but the stance rims and so on.
