Greg Myers Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) In my endless search for Kool stuff. https://www.google.com/search?q=%2732+ford+vw+kit+car&espv=2&biw=1412&bih=716&site=webhp&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=4wb_VK2DEJGGNp2QhPgB&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg#tbm=isch&q=volksrod&imgdii=_ Edited March 10, 2015 by Greg Myers
Greg Myers Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) Some one is. Look at the fit of that cogged blower belt. http://serafinbaer.blogspot.com/2011/06/volksrod-with-blower-and-flathead.html and a "Flathead" too. Edited March 10, 2015 by Greg Myers
wayne swayze Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I can't explain why I find these cars cool...but then I can't explain why I love hot rods either! Am I the only one with an insufficient answer?
Joe Handley Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Did that with one of my R/C cars a while back, it was simple to convert, but slightly brain melting for some who saw it at work I even shot some Chrysler Dark Bronze on the inside of the body before laying down the Flat Black so that every scrape that goes through that will start looking like surface rust!
Greg Myers Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 Then there are some people that really have it figured out, Billy. Some neat ideas.
Atmobil Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 This one has been built by a fellow VW club member. He has talked about wanting to build a model of it aswell.
Sixx Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Wow...some major eye candy right there!!!!!!!!! Awesome bugs in those photos!!!! Thanks fort posting that link
espo Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I think they all look pretty neat. I like the radio controlled car, looks like a lot of fun. In the opening post of the 1:1 cars I think I saw the second one just a couple of weeks ago at the Autorarma at Bartel Hall in Kansas city. If its the one I'm thinking of it was built as a father son project, the father owning a custom body shop in the area. The workmanship is outstanding and has been shown in flat black for some time. At the show just a couple of weeks ago it is now the best looking gloss black with " true fire" type flames. The picture, as nice as it is, just can't do the car justice.
Foxer Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) I really like this one .. someone finally closed off the side in front, though it's hard in this photo to tell everything. Are those door handles ahead of the door? edit: I saved the file and lightened it up. That's just some trim ornament in front of the door. And most of the front suspension is visible under the hood, so sides don't come all the way forward. It does give me ideas for all the VW kits in the basement! Edited March 11, 2015 by Foxer

jbwelda Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 amazing thing is, they used to (and may still) turn these things away at "Billetproof" hot rod shows. I never understood why, they are just as kool as most rods I see driving down the street. jb
bbowser Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 To me these are today's Model A's and deuce coupes. Cheap, affordable cars that can be modified to your heart's (and wallet's) content. I think they're very cool!
ToyLvr Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Thought you might enjoy this. Wish I could take credit for it, but the model is actually the work of Robb Shelby, who is a member of my local model car club (Back Porch Modelers Group). Edited March 11, 2015 by ToyLvr
Tom Geiger Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I started this one a while back. Still looks just like the picture!
