Some good processes here *thumbsup* I started last weekend to get the first impression how much work the Hondaengine would be in the engine compartment of my Mini. I'll let follow some pics on the weekend.

I see great contenders here :) . I be waiting for some parts to reveal my entry, and I have to say that you put me so hard to find the right model to build as a sleepe, 'couse you use some of my options :) .

After fabbing the plenum I wondered if the engine sat up too high so I test fitted the engine. It fits!!

So much room up front I'm thinking twin turbo now! Got 'em, might as well use 'em.

I'm loving the look of that engine!

The fit of the Audi Chassis to the PT Cruiser is divine. But the wheelbase is too wide and the wheels sit up in the wells so far it looks like a low-rider. I need to bring them in.

The upper and lower A-arms have been shortened and dropped in an effort to raise the body.

A-Arms reattached to the bracket. Left is uncut, right shows mod.

This this was the first suspension piece and the scars show a few miscalculations, but the others are coming together nicely.

Nice work Mike

I need to do the same to the corvette running gear I'm using

Right now the '62 Imp looks Slammed

This will be the first time I've RAISED the ride height

Nice fiddley work

Made some progress on the Regal. Attempted to get rid of the ejector marks in chassis

DSCN6406-vi.jpg

Removed the drivers window net which would cause visibility issues changing lanes on the rod and giveaway nature of car.

DSCN6405-vi.jpgDSCN6407-vi.jpg

Started on other side of chassis. Painted interior with some Valspar Chocolate Brown "suede". Using the stock seats from Monogram GN.

DSCN6420-vi.jpgDSCN6427-vi.jpgDSCN6428-vi.jpg

Will be leaving out some of the cage so there will be some room for a passenger. Will be painting cage another shade of brown to hopefully help "hide" it.

Got bodywork finished as best as I could. Body is now painted with Krylon Georgia Clay. Yes, that is the name of the color.

Still trying to decide if I'm going to polish the paint or leave it as is.

Oscar that looks great, and you are really on the right track. The fender flares and the wheel arches though, just scream "race car". Will the GN body fit over this chassis? Or maybe do some fender surgery using the wheel arches from the GN?

Yeah, and for that reason you may not want to polish it Oscar.

No, GN body will not fit over chassis and I don't have the skills to perform surgery. Got to leave a few clues for the trained eyes ;) . Will "chrome" the window trim. Will try to make headlight covers and some sort of tail lights

That's how I build/customize my 1:1 cars subtle mods that are only noticed by the people who appreciate them.

Tuning a NASCAR body into something that looks OEM will be a challenge! Others are offering some good, constructive criticism, I wish you good luck-look forward to your progress.

Some work on the chassis. For the first time in my modeling "career" I had to resort to JB Weld to get a good bond for the front subframe.

Bumper work

I decided the LS1 needed more air coming in so,..

Cut out the middle of the lower bumper and,..

cut the cowcatcher off the top,..

and installed it underneath,..

IMG_4513600x450_zps22b6901b.jpg

This gives me room to install an intercooler ;)

Don't know why GM didn't think of this 53 years ago  ?

Also ground the back of the grille out.

Nice frame work going on up there Rob

This is fun iddnit

Yeah Bruce. There going to be an awful lot of scratch-building and major mods for most of us on this build. Great idea on that bumper.

I'm in!

Don't know what year Chevy Van - with added secret equipment from Acme Supply Company!

I'm not sure how chocolate is secret equipment, unless there will be a woman driving with you,

Welcome to the build off George.

It's not chocolate - that's my "stealth box" camouflage! (In other words, it was the only box I could find in a hurry that was about the correct size).

Progress will follow - after I finally get it started..........

my other kits came in, I had a hunch about the SSR, and it worked out perfect. i originally got it for the running gear. but now it looks like the chassis, suspension, drive train and even parts of the interior will be useable.. The ZR1 is for the slight chance I take the easy way out, i'll rob it of its blower.
