MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. That "Slant Eight" is definitely the engine that Chrysler SHOULD have made, It would have been a real game changer in some of those mid '60s compacts like the Valiants and Darts, even the Baracuda might have been a possibility😊
  2. You should think about raising the back to give it a "'Shine hauler" look one that isn't loaded yet for a delivery run, just the attitude that lets everyone know that it MIGHT be a car used to deliver illegal moonshine from one of the local stills to different buyers throughout the area.
  3. That's a pretty bad thing to happen to a kit that sold out at most places before they could get them out of the box and onto the shelf because being under the Revell of Germany banner and the tools have basically became property of the Chinese companies that were molding for Revell. I was hoping that it was somehow one of those red headed stepchildren that RoG didn't have any interest in at all and were placed in the BIG grab bag that Atlantis and a couple of smaller companies that Atlantis let some of the odd stuff trickle down to but we can't seem to be that lucky.
  4. The modified of the Mustang II I had (that everyone tells me that it was never made) was cut following tthe forward edge of the doors, I it looked better than ones that were cut straight down instead.
  5. Has the Monroe Handler hit the open market yet? I would like to find the body for a Super Speedway modified based on the Dick Armstrong owned and Geoff Bodine driver.
  6. If it's anything like the ones I have the back door is the only one that is able to open
  7. Maybe Round2 needs to pull all of the bad bodies they have left in the kits they haven't shipped out and offer the bad bodies for the Modified guys as a chance to build one of the Mustang II mods that have never been seen since the original release. I actually had one of those and it was a good looking build in Candy Apple Red and a silver chassis.
  8. I just hope that the U.S. shippers don't stick their ransom on BEFORE shipping to Canada. Or there just might be a resurgence of bootlegging across the Great Lakes.😉
  9. I would be happy as a pig in slop if some industrious resin caster, or 3D printing wizard would produce a conversion kit to build a '48 Pontiac Aerocoupe (Torpedo) version, I'd be happy if it was just a body conversion.
  10. One of the neat things that AMT did during this period is that the engines from any of the Trophy Series kits would drop directly into any of the other Trophy Series kits without any modifications needed. Want a real "hot" p'cup? Drop in the430 Lincoln from one of the '25T kits the only thing you might need to think about is the exhaust because unless you're building a highboy version with no fenders the headers from the T kits are ever gonna fit a Resto-mod version.
  11. Looks like the old Syclone kit to me. Sure lucky that years ago when the Pay Less Drug stores were all closing I picked up three of the Syclone kits, two of the S-10/ Lowrider, and four of the last Revell stock releases of the original '56 Ford F-100 kits all for $1.99 each. Now if I can remember what big box out of the 40-50 to pick from, bet I will start putting contents sheets on the end of each box when I am repacking them this time
  12. I'd like to see the '48, and a '51 Torpedo as my dad had both of them and the '48 was his first car out of High School, he graduated in June of 1947 and worked all summer in sawmill in their tiny little company town and in September took a train back to Michigan and drove his first car off the assembly line and out of the factory. That was pretty good for a 17 year old, oh yeah that brand new Pontiac cost him a little less than $2500. Can you imagine doing that in our modern world?
  13. I sincerely hope that this version actually has the door mount mirrors shown on the box art.
  14. I've shied away from that grille because having both headlights so close to the middle like that just didn't look right, but after looking at this build I think that drilling the centers out and putting some screen in they can make excellent air intakes for a twin turbo power plant and just use some black detailer to give the appearance of having the headlights back there.
  15. Since there's already a '60, '64-'66,'67-72 in the Sixties era how about a '63 short bed fleetside small window. (it's a lot easier to make the back window larger than it is to make it smaller).
