I bought the fourth season KITT with the red scanner, i'm stunned with this detail, it looks so real.... And i plan on building it later this year, i've begun a GTA from Monogram last year, but stopped it when i saw the Aoshima KITT...

I like my Aoshima K.I.T.T. a lot, a it's more accurate of course, but lots of modeler's don't want to pay that much for such a model, we must not forget that the price i mentioned is complete with shipping included, i bought mine in a hobby-shop in NJ and it cost me 70$ + txs.. And i foud one here in Montreal at 53$ but without the LED scanner. I think this scanner is the detail that will made Aoshima sell their K.I.T.T.'S here in america most.. Since i'm a fan of the TV show, I think it's worth the money. And i say yes the Aoshima version is far more accurate in desing..

Thank's for the comments... I'm not going into a factory fresh car, since i've done some weathering under the car, i want to represent a 6-8 month old car that dont know winter yet.. Most of the times, owners tuned their engines to give more performance as soon as they quit the dealer lot.. I rermember my friend with it's 340 Duster, he borrowed a set of plug wires and they were blue, they were of premium performance quality, but i don't remember of what brand they are.. My black plug wires are not scale-exact and the other color i have is orange!! This is why i used the blue ones, and not to forget that a didn't completed the engine yet, there is still work to do on this part.. With the summer coming with all the work to do outside the house, my project have slowed a bit, but i keep this one going, because it's doing great and i have fun building it!! Again thank's for the comments.. Mike...

So here it is.. The decal sheet: The body... Interior tub and chassis.. The clear and smoke parts.. The chrome tree.. Knight Rider parts.. A closer view of the dashboard.. Reamaining parts for the Knight Rider edition.. All the remaining parts are the same as all the AMT/MPC Trans-Ams and GTA.. Hope these will help!! Mike...

The interior parts have been painted with Plutonium G paint, and the color is deep space (semi-flat black) spayed over Plasti-Kote gray primer and followed by an Golden paint acrylic wash over the entire parts even the seats (wash have been achived with Golden paints black liquid acrylic and Golden airbush medium thinner, 80% thinner and 20%paint approx.) . This Plutonium G paint is a U.S. product that i found in an art store here in QC.. And the Golden acrylic paints as well. And i used black embossing powder to replicate the carpeting. Here is the interior mock up.. Only the dashboad and steering wheel have bee painted with Model Master acrylic to have a different sheen habitually seen on 1:1 cars... And the bare-metal does give a bit of life ont this all black interior... See you next time with completed engine and interior, thank's for the comments.. Mike...

Hi folk's Here's an update on my COPO.. The clear has been polished after a month drying period.. And it looks perfect factory finish. The Wet-Look Testor's lacquer does work pretty well at this task.. A mock up of the engine on chassis with interior.. A view with the tire lettering form Fireball Modelworks decals, very nice products and awesome service..

Here are a few pics of the Modelhaus kit.. All the parts included.. A closer view of the hood.. Separate side door panels.. An the hood on the car (the factory sprue on the Jo-Han body not removed that's why it doesn't look to fit in front) And the inteior floor pan with the bench seat.. Everything will fit well on the Jo-Han kit, but can easily be modified to fit over the AMT chassis to have greater details, to achive a perfect looking 440-6 just like the picture of AZERS!! By the way your Rally Grreen 440-6 looks really cool AZERS...

I bought this kit a last NNL east, and it's not bad at all, only minor work is necessary to replicate those vent on the fenders, all the rest is pretty nice!! I also bought the Aoshima version of K.I.T.T. and i'm very impressed, it's a curbside, but it has a pretty cool working LED red scanner, but this version is pretty pricey (77$), but you can also have it without the scanner for about 45$.. And not to forget it is a 1/24 scale. i bought this last one to go along my Monogram Trans-Ams.. But the Round 2 issue, is the way to go if you don't want the LED scanner, because it's a lot cheaper than the Aoshima and it's 1/25 scale.. If you have a few body skills, it will be an easy task to repicate those vents or you can buy a older version of the 1982 MPC Trans-am and keep the body part to build a more accurate K.I.T.T without bodywork!! What is cool for me, is the decal sheet of course, but the all the clear parts, molded in clear and smoke, so you can combine the clear windshield with smoked back glass and t-tops, a lot easier than tinting them with smoke clear!!

Thank's for the kind comments, with the trip to NNL east last week, the Camaro suffered a bit of " i don't have time to work on my models!!", but i've done some yesterday and i will post pictures very soon. I've done the tire lettering with Fireball Modelworks decals, and it is a lot more accurate.. And all the black parts have been painted too, my interior is almost done, stay tuned, i will made a mock up before the en of the week!! Mike.

Here's an update on my COPO Camaro project! I've done some work on the interior (seats and door panels) that i've painted flat black with a semigloss black acrylic wash to achieve a good vinyl interior look. I applied bare-metal to the side panels trims, and i've used embossing powder on the floor followed with black paint to simulate period correct carepting. I've also worked on the front grill, it's been painted steel and i put a Model Car Garage Bowtie Chevy emblem.. Here it is for now! Now i'm preparing myself for the NNL East on saturday, i think i will bring the Camaro on the primer table.. Hope to see some of you guys!!
