Glad to see this 1/25 '53 Studebaker Starliner, "Mr. Speed" kit return with all of its original parts. Can anyone post some pics of this reissued kit's parts trees? Wondering if they have a lot of flash and the general condition of this reissue. Also wondering; does the body have cutting-guidelines inside it for removing the roof to add the kit's chopped top piece? I like the chopped top, but would rather build this kit as a "custom" with a much-less-severe chopped top; I'm wondering if a portion of the stock top and the chopped top piece could be combined to build a custom Stude with only a 2"-3" chop instead of the much larger chop provided in the kit.

Brian, Beautiful build! I imagine it would take you several paragraphs just to describe the various body modifications that you made on this build! What kit did you use to build the chassis from? (Sure would like to see some pics of the chassis, too)!

I can't ever remember seeing one of these Edsel kits built in a one paint color scheme before! It looks really good in solid Red! Great job, Tulio!

I wonder if it would be possible to engineer each of the clear windows so they would be not as thick as typical kit windows, and then have a groove molded into the window frames where these thin glass pieces could be "popped" tightly into place without needing any glue. Just an idea...

Beautiful build! This is one of those that when I look at it, I wish I could have the 1:1 version parked in my garage, (and I don't say that about a lot of builds I see)!

Wow! Beautiful Build! I always thought these little race cars still kept their windshield wipers, but guess I was incorrect about that!

I agree, the S&H chassis looks really nicely done. Looking at the side panel of the S&H box mockup makes me wonder what engine came inside the 1:1 television show's car. I would've bet it to be 351 Windsor, but the box art's engine looks too tiny for a 351 to my eye! (Granted, it's just a mockup of the model and its box art, so the final product could be different).

I hope somebody purchases that vintage race car and gives it a full-restoration!!! Oh... wait, it's 1/25 scale, right?!? That is a fabulous build and outstanding diorama!

Once it was finished, I knew that I'd like it; and I do! Nicely built!

It's kinda funny how the Coke bottle decal on decklid of the Bobby Allison car is pouring into the fuel cell filler!

I just received my newly-reissued 1/25 Revell BRE Datsun 510 racecar kit and found this kit to be pretty much as I remembered it from the original, mid-1970's issue. There is very little flash in my kit and everything looks to be molded very well. The new decal sheet also looks excellent. One area of disappointment for me though; the kit has new tires in it, and although produced with excellent tread-pattern and plain sidewalls, these new tires seem extremely small to my eye. The tires are right at 3/8" wide, making them slightly-wider than 9" in 1:1 scale; (this dimension seems about right to me). But the tire's sidewall height is right at 7/8", or slightly taller than 21" in 1:1 scale. That sidewall height dimension seems too small to me. Were the tires used on these little Datsun racecars really that small?

Haven't heard or read much about these 2nd quarter kits and when they'll be hitting the store shelves lately; anybody know when we might start to see these available for purchase? I'm wanting to get my hands on one of those little Datsun 510's quickly; I loved that kit!

I certainly agree here! I'm certain that as Moebius continues to produce new kits of the cars that us "older" model builders want, their kit-requests list will just grow and grow and grow...

John, Wow, this looks like an awesome project; I'll be watching your build closely! What can you tell us about the 1:1? When was it built? What's that monster engine inside of it? Was it created based on other customs of the era?

I'll be watching this project as it progresses. My thinking would be use the Sombrero caps; they seem perfect to me to go along with your Desoto grill; flashy chrome with some nice, "projecting-dimensions" to it!

Really like this build! Tell us some more about it. Did you have to reposition those rear wheel openings on the Rat Packer body to get them closer to a stock position, (even tho they're opened-up so large)? What did you use for your chassis underneath? Did you scratchbuild the rollcage? Where'd that engine come from? Great, great build; I love the subject-matter!

I really like this build! Lennie's Pepsi paint scheme looks excellent on the Monte Carlo notchback body; I might like it even better than how it looked on Lennie's original mid-1970's Chevys!

Excellent rebuild! Your paint and decal work look excellent! I'm really looking forward to the upcoming reissue of this kit; haven't built one of these since the mid-1970's. It'll be good to take another crack at it!

Love your Cougar Spoiler! I really like factory-phantoms, and your idea and build-execution on this Cougar is excellent! Your build of the Cyclone Spoiler is excellent as well. (Sure would like to see that vintage kit get reissued again, but I doubt that will ever happen).

Kit comes with both front-suspension set-ups, (raised leaf-springs with straight front axle for building a gasser and factory-stock front suspension).

This is a great-looking 1:1 car! I'm in the middle of a project converting a 1/25 Johan Maverick into a "factory-phantom", 1970 Maverick Boss-302. Using the same AMT/Ertl '67 Mustang chassis underneath it, with the Boss-302 engine from the AMT/Ertl '69 Cougar Eliminator kit. I'll be adjusting Boss-302 Mustang stripe decals to fit the Maverick body. I have a 1:1 article where a guy did this conversion in 1:1, it looked like a awesome car, so I had to build my own.
