  1. Most of the heavy hitter cars are Pro Stock chassis built. The small tire cars, like the Mustangs, are mostly subframed cars. I would recommend the Monogram/Revell Pro Stock kits for donor chassis. Or at least they would offer a close start.
  2. Yup, not worth a dime! Just send it to me for proper disposal! All kidding aside, this is a rare kit. Only issued twice and then most likely modified into another car and thus probably won't come back. But then again, we thought that of the Circus Wagon and Rommel's Rod Check out link for more info http://www.showrods.com/showrod_pages/horn_toad.html
  3. Oh yeah! That is the look! Nice!!
  4. Very nice and clean!
  5. Almost any vintage drag wheel is a gasser wheel
  6. No, most where the product of the team at AMT. He approved it and that was it. He had his hand in lots of kits back then as a "Consultant" If you have a kit of the Winged Express Fuel Altered in the original box, you will notice the the engine is called a "429 Ford Semi Hemi" but it is really and early Chrysler 392. It was called a Ford due to Barris having a say so since he was at the time peddling Ford products. He pretty much had his finger in all the model companies at one time or another.
  7. Thanks for fueling our imaginations over the years, Mr. Barris
  8. Unfortunately, some of these tools are so modified, they are most likely not worth fixing.
  9. Well, they are not that complex. With some patience they can be build fairly easy. Now, the early Revell kits top fuel kits, those are complex!
  10. The above kits will get you the closest to the car you want to build. Decals would be your next biggest hurdle.
  11. Roll bar, Ladder Bars and a Chute
  12. Thanks Dave and Michael, I will take some more pics and check to see what paint I used. I can not remember at the moment.
  13. I have always had a soft spot for 1/16th and with the exception of one or two kits, I have almost every Revell Drag Series kit
  14. Build this one when it was last issued with all the parts back in the box. I always liked the original box art and will most likely buy it again just for that!
  15. Very nice! Now, can we get it up to 88 mph?
  16. Nice job! That looks proper.
  17. Very cool! Bravo!
  18. I will check my earlier editions and see what was in the box. But I don't remember them coming with the stock seats. Maybe they are getting ready to run the "Stock" version of the kit as well
  19. Unfortunately I will not be making this meeting, I am driving up to Bakersfield for the Hot Rod Reunion, but I will try for the November meet.
  20. It would be cool if they re-issue the armored cocoon for it.
