  1. Got to see this other clone at JCCS 2015, along with John Morton, parked near the Nissan display. As for the chrome trim, after a few races that went away due to the windshield having to be replaced a few times. Either way is correct, but, for ease of building, leaving off that detail would be easier. Also, this engine has been built as close to the original as possible, so colors are pretty correct. Here are a couple of more pics
  2. Very nice build! Too bad they did not include a roof rack for some slicks and stuff
  3. Very nice and clean build! I like the stance on it
  4. Every time I sell kits, I will wheel and deal just so I don't have to drag it home!! Sometimes someone will pick up a kit, and then put it down and start walking away. I will ask why are they not getting it and they will tell me that the price is more than they want to pay, so I tell them to give me an offer, 99.9% of the time I will take it!! I know plenty of guys who have the same stuff at every show and will not budge on their prices. And trust me, I will call them out on it and they just don't care and often say the same thing, "these are rare and out of production and that is what they are going for on ebay", so I tell them to put them on ebay and stop clogging up the shows! Also, some of the pricing seems to be regional, certain kits will command higher prices in certain areas, from what I see on the boards in postings like this.
  5. This thread has officially jumped the shark
  6. Wow, I guess I better start snapping them up around here! Those Matadors usually only go anywhere from $10 to $15.
  7. Oh, Good luck! BTW, I do build large scale.
  8. Nice and clean! Great job on the driver!!
  9. You are correct, I was looking at my stack and the Javelin just stuck in my mind!
  10. I have the Maverick and the Javelin Funny cars in the AMT boxes, along with an Olds 442 Funny Car
  11. Oh yeah! The Brave Pioneers
  12. Maybe AMT still has the molds?
  13. After looking mine over a bit, I just noticed that it has "Imperial" 392 HEMI valve covers! The block and heads look like a 426, but the valve covers are early Chrysler. But, it will not be very noticeable underneath the body.
  14. Super nice! I need to make one of those!
  15. Honestly, who cares. I am a bit greedy with my hobby and I rarely share it anymore. Most folks today don't care, so why should I bother. I know it is a bleak outlook, but why worry about it. I worry more about trying to finish what I start!!
  16. I have mine in plastic sleeve inserts that go into binders. Great way to keep them handy and go through them.
  17. Pretty cool truck, but, just because a kit was not issued with different decals does not make it a Ghost kit. Sorry.
  18. Connie Ewards owned the stash of Spanish built ME-109's, aka Buchons, that he acquired when they finished filming The Battle Of Britain movie. He also scored a Spitfire and a few others. Recently decided to sell the collection off.
  19. I think one of the big factors is that the model companies have finally stabilized and are selling kits steadily. One must remember that for some time all the model companies where in a state of flux and seemed to be almost at the verge of failing. Most of it could probably be attributed to the fact that they where owned by companies that had many other interest besides model kits. Now the model companies are doing what they have done for years, concentrate on models only! And yes, we are in a very special time in Model Kit history. The new and the old have merged and we seem to be getting the best of both worlds. New tools and vintage re-issues some of us thought we would never see again. Incredible materials to build with and create, from parts to decals, we almost have become our own model shops! But I do agree with Harry, it is a bummer to see Hobby Shops go by the wayside.
  20. Very nice and clean!
