  1. Pretty cool vid of some amazing riding techniques http://youtu.be/_VHaQeY88po
  2. Oops! Maybe more than one! I have two MoonEyes vans also Sorry Adam, did not mean to Hijack your thread!
  3. I only have a Parts kit on the Truckin' USA van. It has almost everything untouched but it is missing the body. Just need to find a junker I can clean up for a donor kit. I have a sealed 78 MPC Dodge van also, but, that one is staying sealed. And only one of my vans is built, and this one was a Junker Rebuild.
  4. I will start gathering the vans pretty soon, they are mostly in storage, and will take a pic of them all! Until then, here is a proof I found on ebay a few years ago that I could not resist adding to the collection!
  5. Nice! I love Vans! My Uncle had a Ford Econoline back in the 70's that had orange shag carpet, wood paneling, 8 Track and a couple of bean bags! This Revell Van has been a jack of all trades and has gone from Street Custom to 4X4 Adventure Van! I am lucky to have every version made of this van! I need to finish mine. I should round them all up and take a family pic of them! Once again, nice job!
  6. Clark Gable thought Injection was nice, but, he liked getting blown!
  7. I have one of the Wild Flower Series. The Sunflower Power '62 Buick Electra 225 Other cars in the series are: Bird of Paradise '60 T Bird Convertible Buttercup Bomb '60 Pontiac Bonneville Peony Pony '65 Mustang Hardtop Magnolia Mauler '60 Mercury Ultra Violet '61 Galaxie
  8. I like it! This is a neat kit that requires some patience. I built mine with a flat head ford and different wheels. I should build one box stock.
  9. Happy B Day! Take care Brah!
  10. Ivo and Thompson knew how to market their names and teaming up with a model company was a natural course. Both had multiple cars done by Revell and AMT. The Summers Bros. only had one memorable car and it would have been a bear to make as a kit. Only a curbside would have done it and that was not too popular at a time when Revell was making very intricate, flimsy and ill fitting, kits. The resin marital aid by Jimmy Flintstone is not bad and with some sanding and painting, will make a nice shelf model.
  11. Trust me, that color looks better in person! Out of all the candidates, this one was in the top running! Forgot my camera at home so no pics, sorry!
  12. Well, I know of someone who is working with Revell on new wheels and tires. Apparently Revell has to re-do the tires because they can no longer get them from their source. So we can at least look forwards to that! And new decals! As for Aurora stuff. Forget it! The Donovan mold was accidentally destroyed by Aurora during production and the other tooling is MIA. Unless they really want to dig for it.
  13. I am a drag builder, so anything drag is cool, but, yes, they need to make things that will appeal to a larger audience. That is why I would ask for a 71-73 Boat tail Buick Riviera. Lots of ways to build them and one that has never been done. As Mr.Smith pointed out, everybody wants their own thing. I just want something that will sell so they can keep making kits! But for selfish reasons, I ask for kits that have a broad appeal. Like a Cheetah race car! Not only never done, but this thing would sell world wide!
  14. Very cool! Nice job!
  15. No! I am not drinking those! They are my model body stands!
  16. I used Testors Duck Egg Blue. It is a military color and it was pretty close to the original box art. I used Testors clears since the paint is a flat military color, but, it has since yellowed pretty good. I heard Cobra Colors used to make it, but, I don't know does it now.
  17. The Revell Gary Ormsby Dragster comes to mind. They printed 1991 NHRA Top Fuel Champion when he was the 1989 World Champion. Gary passed in 91 from cancer.
  18. Well, picked up the Willys yesterday and did a quick comparison to the original kit. Not much was changed and it was cleaned up a bit since its last re issue. Box art was definitely changed! The original shows the "Ford" logo on its flanks where the new one shows an Art Carr trans decal. Also, the event decals are not on the resto car. The tires are another big surprise, They include some of their new pic crust slicks and some of the new Dragster slicks with the M&H printing. Also included are some skinny Pirelli tires from the Willy Borsch Altered. The originals slicks are hollow and a bit short and are Good Year tires. The fronts are skinny and tall pedestrian style tires. The kit comes with the regular four slot rear wheels that have been in the kit since it was first issued, until now. They have tooled up new rear five hole wheels that look very nice and will no doubt find their way into other projects. The fronts remain the same and are correct. Now for the bodies. Not much difference, except for one little one. The tilt front in the original kit has two clearance bumps in the grill area where the re issue has them gone. The real car has them and are need to make the car a bit more correct. They where deleted when the kit was re issued in the 70's with the flame decals, side pipes and off road low profile tires! This is the issue that I restored back in the early 90's and now I need to build a newer and better version! Also, you will notice that the new blue plastic is a bit brighter than the original, which was closer to the real car in color. The chrome trees are pretty much the same with the restoration of the wheelie bar parts restored back onto the trees. The kit comes with some nice decals that are a reproduction of the originals, but, the Ford logos where not included once again. The instructions are the same as the original with paint color call outs, but, they did change the pic of the car with the new one. The booklet is neat and has some nice reference shots of the car back then and now. Also included is a hand out style pic and an AMT decal and model catalog. Overall, nice to see it back with the correct parts and new parts added. I hope they keep restoring these tools and updating them where possible. Now, where are the Mustangs! Jesse C.
  19. I was under the impression it was done to reflect sunlight and thus keeping the interiors cooler. But I could be wrong.
  20. That looks like fun!
  21. A very nice build of one of my all time favorite cars and kits! Great job!
  22. From what I know, they Used Cars kits where sort of a press release for the movie that where sent out to T.V. and radio stations to promote the movie. From what I read, and I have never seen one of these kits in person, the contents are parts that do not even go together! And the instructions are some crazy setup on how to build your used car. Someone once said they found a Camaro in the box with other misc parts. I just have a soft spot for show biz related kits.
  23. I see one of my grail kits in there. The "Used Cars" promo kit! So jealous!
  24. Updated my pics and here is just what I have at home. I have a bit more in storage.
