Awesome job. Is that the Fujimi kit? Word of warning that TS-36 has problems with cracking. Mine did on the MP4/& long after it was built. I hope yours is OK. I will not use it again.

It's far better kit than the old Protar kit. I have the "option" decals coming in the mail from mshobbies. You can see all the parts and instructions here http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10320844

I use to use dullcote and their semigloss but I always airbrush it. This gives you much more control. You control the shine with the way you spray. They spray well but both rub off if handled too much. I think Tamiya's Flat(TS-80) and Semi-Gloss(TS-79) spray better out of the can and are much more durable.

Countersinks for Plastic?

This set works great. The small starter points are small enough for model building. I use them to countersink the heads of straight pins I use for re-enforcing and pinning models -

cleaning glue off the windows
935k3 replied to jacoballardtattoo's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Try soaking in water overnight. water will eventually soften and weaken it. Do not use suprglue for windows, you are asking for trouble. Try a good PVA glue like Formula 560 Canopy Glue or Microscale Krystal Klear. It can be rubbed right off or wiped off with water on a Q-Tip. It does take awhile to setup but the safety factor is worth it. It holds very well when dry. -

The paint looks great. How many ounces are in a jar? It really does not say on the website. -
Thanks to all for the compliments.

Tamiya Martini Alfa Romeo V6 TI... Rare Kit??
935k3 replied to Bettsu's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It is a great kit but beware anybody buying Tamiya kits from this time period(early to mid nineties) Tamiya had issues with cracking decals. I would not buy these kits unless I could see the decals in person. -

Ford Escort RS1800

Looking good JC. I always buy enough paint intending on sanding the firs coats down, The second session always comes out better. I learned that in wood shop in high school. The more coats sanded in between the smoother it gets. The reason is most primers are porous and soak up the first layers of paint, color coats seal the primer and you get smoother paint. -

Tire decals; Dry transfer or Water slide?
935k3 replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Put a coat of Future on the sidewall(can be applied with a Q-Tip) this helps the decal stick to whatever the tire is made of. Than DullCote the when decal is dry. -

I was lucky and found a stream of the Eurosport coverage of all 24 hrs. I watched the first 16hrs straight then slept and watched the last couple of hours. The British announcers are much better than the Fox's guys anyway. It is a shame that in this country watching pickup trucks race was more important than the greatest race that only comes once a year.

Thanks for another great review Don. I always wondered about them, I had looked them up last year and the price shocked me. I think the Paasche "H" set is a far better buy.

Porsche 919 Hybrids finished 1st and 2nd in this years 24 hrs of Lemans. It was back and forth between them and Audi for most of the race.
