  1. Someone please check the temperature of Hell, I think it's frozen. Not only have I finished more than one model this year, I finished one that has been on and off the bench for way too long! It's a 1970 Ferrari 512s Coda Lunga, as chassis #1038 driven by Jacky Ickx and Peter Schetty (before it was wrecked) in that year's 24 hours of Le Mans. Built from the Fisher curbside resin kit with a few mods. I made new door and back windows for a better fit, made a one-piece rear spoiler from .020" sheet, as well as the front winglets from the same. The kit came with PE parts, but the rear spoiler was three pieces, and it seemed like they would be more difficult to attach. The roll bars are aluminum tube, and I made the intake trumpets from flared aluminum tube. The vents in the fenders are made from .010" sheet. Paint is Tamiya TS-08 Italian Red, the tires are a mix of semi gloss black and NATO black, with the decals from the '66 Penske Vette kit. This was my first full resin kit, and was a pretty interesting build. It won't be my last :-)
  2. It was originally made by Esci, but was re-issued under the AMT, MPC and Ertl names. Check Ebay, they are always showing up there.
  3. Cool build - the cam as spreader bar is perfect!
  4. Nice build! I just picked one of those up a couple weeks back, anything to look out for during assembly? got any shots of the underside?
  5. Nice lookin' cruiser!!
  6. Very nice build!
  7. Nice build!! I've got the Whistler Mustang hiding in the pile, hopefully the decals will look as nice as yours when the time comes...
  8. Those are all nice builds!!
  9. Very nice build! Hopefully the weather will warm up a tad and the humidity will stay low this week so I can shoot clear on the Fisher Ferrari 512s and get it done...
  10. I get mine at a local sign shop, they keep it on hand for all the clear and translucent plexi they use.
  11. Been awhile since I built mine, but I think all I did was sand and file both the springs and the crossmembers untill I got the ride height I wanted. I also removed a little material where the front axle attaches to the spring/radius rod. Using the wheels and tires from the '29 Rat Rod pickup helped get it a bit lower as well.

    1971 240Z

I had a 1975½ 280z, first of the fuel injected cars. Gold, black interior with factory air and a four speed, it was a blast to drive!!

    Neat build! What kit?
  14. Where did ya get the tape at?
  15. I use Tamiya NATO black which is a very dark, very flat grey (almost totally black), with a few drops of semi gloss black added in.
  16. That is really nice!! Excellent work!!
  17. Sweet build - excellent work!! Yeah, but is the wiper motor correct?
  18. The Monogram (Revell) kit is just wrong. The spoiler is carried over from the '83 GT kit with a "cap" for the top of the main spoiler and the upper spoiler. It is supposed to be an '85, but has the composite headlamps of an '86 as well as the engine and exhaust from an '84. The wheels are nice, the body is decent and the interior is right. The turn signals and corner lamps are just flat plastic, no lenses.
  19. Right! G35s are pretty sweet, buti t looks like I missed out on them when they came out. Oh well
  20. Yeah!! Nuge for Prez!!
  21. Thanks guys! Felt good to dust off the cobwebs and crank out a build... just gotta keep the Muse happy so I can get some of the otrher started kits on the bench and in the case
  22. Ya gotta post some pics of the build!
  23. Now that's funny!! The 250 SWB is at the top of my "must have" list!! Didn't they also do a Competizione Coupe version of their 365 Daytona kit?
  24. Gotta go with Bill, Tamiya tape is the best!
  25. Few more:
