Bill,
Give Leon's paints a try....they are great products! Here's my '68 Firebird shot with Cobra Colors Emerald Turquoise Metallic over Plastikote white primer, and topped with PPG two part urethane clear. The color went on very nice, right out of the bottle.

I shot Tamiya yellow on my '06 Mustang, no primer, no problems. But the Plastikote pewter grey crazed the interior pieces quite a bit. If in doubt with this new plastic, test, test, test!

Glad ya made it!!
When I showed up, I was happy to see that Bob Downie and Bill Geary are still at it, I missed seeing their work on the "other" board. This place has great potential, welcome aboard! Love that hotrod, you're gonna fit right in with this crowd!

That is soo cool!! I never knew that kit was out there.
What year 280 Z is represented by that kit? I used to own a 1:1 '75½ 280Z (first of the fuel injected cars) that I would love to model.
Bob's right on the rear wheel tubs, I am gonna have to get rude with the dremel to fit the wheels and tires I want to use under the car. The flip side is that there should be plenty of hood clearance for the engine idea I'm kicking around
Both of my kits had/have warped windshields, one much worse than the other. Easily solved with a piece of clear plastic. Other than that, I don't recall any fit issues that keep this from being a quick-building kit.

I slammed this one together in about 3½ days, box stock sans a new windshield. I didn't have any interferance with the interior side panels, but you can see just how high this thing sits. This one was built and given as a Christmas gift, but I have another waiting in the stash that will be a lot less "stock" when finished.
