  1. So it looks like I'm using too hot a thinner. I saw a video posted on YouTube by Tonioseven where he is using the very same paint (brand) and is thinning it with just enamel thinner as opposed to lacquer thinner that I have been using which helps the paint flow out and not dry before it hits the model. So as a matter of respect, I have to thank Tonioseven for the help he didn't realize he gave. Lol
  2. So I laid a very sparkly base silver flake over the gray primer, followed by Sinful Colors' "Rich In Heart" dark cherry red pearl. I hope the flake in the base shows through when I clear coat it. I gotta let it cure a few days before the clear goes on. I HAVE to figure out how to spray this stuff and not get that horrible orange peel.
  3. So the body work is DONE! It is in full primer final coat! This is a huge step for me. I am currently debating colors. I don't know if red, copper, purple, blue, silver, dark silver or black.
  4. Thank you! I really appreciate that.
  5. I got the bumper extensions roughed in and puttied this morning. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I should be in primer this evening.
  6. To be honest. I liked the stock hood better. I know there's not much you can do to stuff that much engine u see the hood so I get why you went the way you did on the hood. The rest is looking really good, and I am going to borrow the idea for the door hinges.
  7. Thanks John! I unfortunately have carved off all but the tinyest bit that makes it a pignose. Lol I made more progress tonight, but nothing noteworthy. I'll get some pics of the finished bumper soon as I'm done shaping and smoothing it out.
  8. Thank you for the compliments, they're very much appreciated. It's been a while since I've built anything and it feels good to actually be progressing. I think I may go with the Broadfield style interior, for those who aren't in the 240sx scene, it's clean, high tech yet very simple. Though it's all black, I may have to change that.
  9. A little more done tonight. Rear bumper is just about done. Shot some primer and noticed some issues with the extension I made at the wheel openings but the tag hole looks satisfactory. The front bumper wasn't quite long enough for the wheel openings to look right, so I am stretching the front valance to fit. Keep in mind this is a S15 body kit modified to fit the s13 so NOTHING fit right except the rear fender flares. Lol I even threw in a mock up of a drift scene lol.
  10. So, I've been busy with real cars and stuff. I have a contest to go to in 2 weeks. Guess I better get busy. Lol Been working on the Pignose again...Not much left of the signature nostrils, but I have the bumper shaved down to fit properly. Still need to do the wheel openings, but that'll be quick...I hope Here's a mock up of the front and the roughed in rear. Made lots of progress in the last 2 days.
  11. They seem to be on par with their other wheel offerings, but I can't find any pics to let me know if they'd pass as US market or if they'll look stupid. Of course just about anything would be better than what come in the Revellogram 1:32 kits.
  12. I am looking for opinions on the Aoshima wheel set for 1:32 Semi trucks. I really want to dress up my revell kits, and the wheels are a good starting point. There's a 22.5" "aluminum", a 19.5" "aluminum", and some "steel" version. If anyone has any pictures of the actual wheels, I'd love to see them
  13. I really want to turn some parts on a lathe and am considering getting a cheap Chinese lathe from Amazon. These little kits are multi purpose and can be changed to a mill/drill, a table saw, a table router, and several other configurations. I was curious if any of you might have one and would kindly share your opinion of it?
  14. It's a Dodgiban! Lol Looks great.
  15. The boat looks big because it is 1:24 and the truck is made from the 454ss kit which was actually small for 1:25. The boat scales out to about 1:24. My neighbor had one and I thought it looked big too, so I compared my kit to his boat which was a longer version of the same boat.
  16. I noticed that you called this an update. I presume you are the same guy that building the other thread . You might find that thread is moved to the trucks work in progress section.
  17. More work on the body kit. Cut the lower half of the bumper off. Cut off the upper half of the rear skirt from the Aoshima S15 and cut it in half so as to accommodate the size and shape of the Tamiya kit. I had a fowl up during fitment, so no after shot, just this measly progress pic. Thanks for looking!
  18. That is AMAZING! When I saw it at first, I thought someone might have taken a reference photo, but then I saw the letters on the left of the image. Looking great so far! What all do we have going on here? I see a lot of familiar parts.
  19. That's really cool! I got to see a real liberty walk R35 here in Oklahoma at Coffee and Cars meet.
  20. Man, that is one of the very best working trucks I have ever seen. The pictures do absolutely no justice to the quality of craftsmanship. I think I studied that one for an hour looking at the details.
  21. It looks great! Sorry about your mom. I thank the Lord every day that I still have my folks. Your mom would love it too, I am sure.

That looks like a lot of work! Looks great! If you were down this way, Oklahoma, Texas, I'd suggest The MCMA Dallas show in March. See if you can find a local model club. They'll be able to get you to a show, I'm sure.
  23. No plastic full detailed kits, but there's no shortage of diecast full detailed. Though most of them are too expensive or super inaccurate or both. Same with another iconic supercar, the Lamborghini Miura/Jota. When they make full detailed kits of these cars, there will be no need for any other kits to be produced, ever again because these are the COOLEST cars in the world.
  24. SR20det in progress. It's been Back burnered for a long time. I recently brought back out for my S13 group project. All scratch built using styrene, putty and random shapes made from different things. Not 100% correct, but a LOT better than the Aoshima lump.
