  1. Reminds me of a Ford F450 I saw the other day. It's difficult to see because of some kind of ecto plasmic anomaly my camera captured, but that's a 6 door long bed dually with a mild lift.
  2. This is about the best I have done. I used macro zoomed in from about 3 feet away. Image is raw, no editing
  3. seems like he has noticed a demand as I am seeing fewer and fewer "out of stock" posts.
  4. I've been wanting to do this for a while...about 5 years. I saw one at a car show that was done on a 37 Chevy pickup, though it was a bit more complete. I'd been designing one in my head with all modern amenities and performance, then factory 5 cane out with their roadster and coupes making it possible for everyone to be able to afford to build one.
  5. did you just use a guitar pic to fill the hole for the opera window? lol Looks crazy! gonna be cool!
  6. never mind. I found one on ebay. It must be a new release. Is it a newly tooled kit?
  7. ahh, that makes sense. Do you have a pic of the box top? I don't recall a revell mkI rabbit.
  8. I really want to see this, I LOVE the golf/rabbit. edited to reflect my realization that I cleared out all my cookies and pics are taking a little longer to load for some reason. What kit is that? I have an old MPC rabbit and a FUJIMI but one is molded in white, the other in yellow. Never seen a BLUE one.
  9. I will try that one! Lol! I am considering building my own custom chassis for this as the belaire chassis is kind of difficult to build off of since no two areas are the same thicknesses. It makes locating crucial points difficult and squaring suspension components impossible.
  10. Japan, Australia or China? Looking good though
  11. That is uh-MAY-zing! I guess this is an everglades recovery vehicle? Lol. Keep up the great work!
  12. I was contacted recently by a friend whom I met through my son. His son, my son's friend, purchased a 240SX with an SR20DET swap which I have turned some wrenches on and gave lots of tips too. He asked me to come over and give my opinion on what to do with this car, as it was driven over a curb at a very high rate of speed. This is what I saw when I pulled up The wheels were shoved into the footwells of the interior, the intercooler was busted into a gozillion pieces, oil pan ripped open, and the entire cabin was badly damaged, buckling the roof rendering the chassis completely useless as anything but scrap metal. So I told him that if the engine and drivetrain was still in good shape, that it would be worth about $1500 as a donor car as really the ONLY thing usable on this car is the engine and transmission...maybe some interior bits and pieces, but not much since they've all been painted black with fabric dye and vinyl spray paint. So he goes on and asks if I would be interested in purchasing it from them. I wasn't in any financial position to be able to buy a car at the time, but I said I'd give him a grand for it, if I had the money. And I was ready to help them strip it down and haul off the bad parts to scrap and he could sell the motor swap to recoup some coin. Well he throws me an offer to fix his 1990 full size Ford Bronco that the ignition switch caught on fire and burned up some wiring harness under the dash and I agreed. I was thinking it was going to be an awful nasty job of first tearing out a burned up dashboard and then finding a properly colored replacement and all the doo-dads, gadgets and gizmos that goes along with it....then I opened the door to find a perfectly pristine dash, no obvious sign of fire, not even the odor of burned plastic. To abbreviate the story of the Bronco, it took a bunch of wire that I was able to scavenge from work, an ignition switch and a connector with pigtail and about 6 hours of wiring repair to get it back on the road. Total cost for repairing the Bronco... $35.00 and time. Now that I'm done working on the Bronco, I set my eyes on finding out how bad the engine was damaged when the oil pan dumped on the ground. I got on several local and national Nissan forums in search of a replacement pan and pickup tube for the SR. I found one locally that my friend Jody had been hording for about 12 years now, and he readily let it go with the pickup and hardware for $20. I had to repair the lower pan baffle with my harbor fright body hammer kit, clean some parts up and slather some RTV to seal everything up. Got some cheap bulk 5W30 from work to pour in the motor and began to figure out how to jump start this thing as there are no power leads since the battery relocation cable that was stretched from one end of the car to the other was cut off or ground down in several places and was grounding out on the body. I ended up cutting the cable at the starter and hooking my jumper leads under the car, which worked out fine. I put the other end of the cables on my Pathfinder and cranked her over. She was a bit hesitant as I think it has a weak starter or bad grounds since it was cranking VERY slowlly at first, but she picked up some speed and fired off. gratuitous engine porn: To my surprise there was not even a hint of internal damage by sound, vibration or visual cues. Oil pressure was right up there and the clutch was in good shape too! So to summarize the story, I got a fully operational SR20DET swap for $55 and 6 hours of labor! I feel quite guilty for taking the deal, but we agreed on price and payment method, so we're both good with the deal. I'm still going to do some generous favors for him for giving me such a smoking hot deal. I hope I can help make someone else's day somehow to repay the generosity. I also hope this story inspires people to do good by others. The world would suck so much more if it weren't for people like Dane and his son. God bless them and all of you who read this
  13. I finally got some time at the bench again. I have to say, I am LOVING my hard wood floors in the hobby room. SO MUCH less dust, SO easy to keep clean, SO easy to find tiny little parts that get flung off the bench! lol The only thing I'd suggest if anyone were to be building a room specifically for building models is that you get sealed, polished concrete or other smooth, chemical resistant flooring. It scares me to open my bottle of plastic weld, paint or thinner. I can't just freely spray CA accelerator like I used to, and airbrushing is no longer an indoor activity until I get a booth built. Well, with that said, lets give the smallest update there ever was, but I'm kinda proud of my first ever scratch built 4-link! It took me about 3 hours to build this setup. I used simple flat strip to build the axle brackets, plastic welded to the axle. I should have used some thinner material, but I'm ok with this for my first time. Soldered brass rod to brass tubing which was drilled with proper size bit to accept the rod with little to no slop so I could have a very rigid fit. Now what you've all been waiting for! the one and only pic I took! I'm sorry it isn't more, but that's what I had time for. Hopefully, I can find some time this week after mowing and cleaning and working and fixing my car and doing the things the wife thinks are more important than my sanity. lol Thanks for looking!
  14. Incompatible paint/primer?
  15. You may get a better looking wheel if you were to strip the chrome and use alclad chrome. The chrome on that era of amt really softened the details. I like the color.
  16. This is amazing! Such attention to details
  17. Easy now, you're talking to a die hard Nissan fan. Lol If a Ford V8 is going under the hood, then the next abomination should be a 9" live axle rear end with a 4-link setup. By the way, I've been a ford guy my whole life.
  18. The z32 came stock with 16" wheels to clear the HUGE (for stock) 11.5" rotors and 4 piston front/dual opposing piston rear caliper brakes so 15" rims won't work...at least on real cars.
  19. The only things you have going against you as far as competition with this build is that it looks so much like a race body that the bodywork may get overlooked and the black color, which shows off the good bodywork, makes it kind of disappear at the same time.
  20. You should build Mr. Big's limo too I love it. And this is the ONLY reason I would purchase this kit.
  21. I may be enticed to dig mine back out. It looks great!
  22. YIPPEEE!!!! It's almost here!!! So far it looks VERY promising! You didn't mention anything about difficulty in assembling other than the trans, so I presume it's got very little flash and everything fits well? I've already got mine planned. Candy pearl orange with cream pearl two tone, tan and cream interior, 360 FE with edelbrock intake and carb....
  23. excellent work on a huge undertaking! I really like the Green O'clock. For some reason it gives me a feeling like the first day of school. lol weird, I know, but that's the feeling I get when I see it.
