  1. Thank you for the encouragement! I have three more for you then I'll call it an evening. Wheels are sorted out ready for finish work and aero kit is being fit to the body. The majority of the body kit is being used from the Aoshima Kie Office S15 with a LOT of fitment corrections. So much for clean daily driver. Lol. This is how all my builds go. I know I am in the zone when they start to take off on their own like this. thank you all for the interest and encouragement. This is a good therapeutic build for me.
  2. Little by little, I am chiseling away at this. I have one front and one rear wheel done, though I have to narrow the front tires to fit the rim properly. I included the original wheel for comparison. I have to strip the chrome from everything and it will be receiving alclad chrome on the lips, possibly the center's as well. We shall see.
  3. So, I am focusing on the 180sx hatch at the moment. I have some seats, brakes, intercooler and wheels. The white parts and the wheel lips are pieces that I have made resin copies of modified parts from other kits, or just copied for personal use. I used Smooth On products for casting and mold making. It's inexpensive and WAY better than Alumilite from Hobby Lobby. I have some clean up to do as my mold making isn't the best at the moment, but they clean up easily and make great parts. The wheels are from a Revellogram Civic, cut the lip off and used my resin pieces for a deeper more exotic 3piece look. The tires are Pegasus's. I hope I can find some tires a slightly larger as these look way too thin for 17" wheels.
  4. Don't get too excited. I make up in skill what I lack in ability to finish a project. Lol
  5. Thanks, it has a long way to go before I am happy with it.
  6. It is completely scratch built.
  7. So I've been in quite the builder's slump lately. My friend Jay suggested we do a sort of joint build to get things moving again. We agreed on the S13 chassis by Nissan. Mine are both Tamiya kits that used to be hard to get, but I guess there was a reissue I didn't know about. The Silvia is getting wide body treatment and the hatch will be just a clean, tastefully modded daily driver...I think. In the pics, you can see a mostly complete sr20det that I have been working on. It has been in storage for many years along with the Silvia. The wide body is mostly done on the right side, the left is getting there. The 180sx/240SX hatch has received the headlamp sleepy eye treatment using the lamps from a Fujimi kit from long ago. Hopefully I'll get these done by March! Lol
  8. what kt is this? I really want to build one of the early 70s Torino GT loke this, I can only find the S&H Kits. Is it JoHan?
  9. I think you missed a couple nuts and bolts. hahaha Looks great! Great detailing and very clean. Color me impressed.
  10. That resin transaxle is just a Porsche copy, I think. Its a good start to an accurate representation. The build is awesome! Pantera is one of my all time favorites. I had a poster of it, a Lamborghini Miura/Jota and Christina Applegate on my wall. Lol Great job indeed
  11. I remember this from a long time ago! I wondered what ever happened with it. Glad to see it's getting more bench time!
  12. Dry brushing works well in easy to reach areas.
  13. until you had to fix something. But a resourceful person would find cheaper non-luxury parts as replacements. Great build, by the way. I love these luxury non-mercedes kits! I have a few waiting to be built.
  14. really cool that you're detailing one of these relics. It will take a LOT of work, but will be worth it when done. I can't wait to see what you do next!
  15. The show was great! I am glad I took the time to go! I can't wait till next year!
  16. I am glad I got to see this in person! Outstanding work and WELL deserving of the awards! If you got pics of the rest of the show, I'd like to ask if you could share them. My camera wouldn't work
  17. Did anyone get any pictures of the MCMA show in Farmer's Branch, Texas? My camera wasn't working and I didn't get any pics. :-( a link to a hosting site would be fine, I wanted to show my friends and family what a great show/turnout it was.
  18. So glad I found this! Lol, I've been wanting info on it for weeks. Good thing I am off this weekend! Lol
  19. I love the J30! Not a fan of the Donk style or blue on a J30, but it's a decent build, so I gotta give you that. I'd love to see more of these built in all styles of build. Great job!
  20. You win the internet for 3 days! Awesome 'stang!
  21. I'm a Nissan fan, I can't comment on Hondas. lol J/K! Some great work here! Absolutely talented, you are. I like that you have personalized your builds so much. I see so many of these that people build "custom", but still look straight out of the box. I want to see more on that NSX! I haven't seen the Revellogram kit yet, that I am aware of. I have several Hondas that need built/finished and your builds may just give me the motivation to do so. Thank you for sharing and WELCOME to MCM Forum!
  22. Looking great! A suggestion, if I may. Scuff your primer before base coat, scuff base coat before masking paint lines. When pulling the tape off, don't pull straight up, pull it as if you're doubling it over. In doing this it tends to cut the paint lines with the tape rather than tearing it. Judging by your skill set, you already know this. Lol I love the paint scheme and color choice. I think a pearl top coat before clear would look phenomenal.
  23. Lol, it's been nearly a year since the last update. It would appear that crewdawg has the same building habits as me, so don't be holding your breath on a quick update. Haha Seriously though, I've never seen a better s-chassis kit build... ever!
  24. my cat (one of 3) is a real strange one. anywhere else in the house, she won't come within 3 feet of anyone but as soon as I walk into my hobby room, she's there being annoyingly affectionate. She's a real work inhibitor. Usually if I give her a pipe cleaner she'll go chase it around and leave me be for the most part. Otherwise, I have to just wait until she settles into my lap and falls asleep. as for boxes, well, cats are cats, something about the smooth cardboard bottom and the walls to hold them in, I don't get it. They are strange creatures.
